  1. Not sure exactly what time in the 3rd period Grigs stopped appearing, but... if there's 7 or 8 minutes left.... maybe they should be getting offensive, not defensive, and trying to score another goal? If there was 2 or 3 minutes left and the Sabres still enjoyed a 2 goal lead, well then yeah, pull him.
  2. Wasn't Ruff doing the same basic thing? It's frustrating to watch.
  3. You got a point there. And notice that Kaleta has missed 2 1/3 games, and they've lost all three of those games? I don't think it's any coincidence.
  4. Not hard to do both. I had the Sabres game on in one tab (First Row Sports) and another tab for the forum here.
  5. Well, just like that the Sabres have lost 3 in a row and are sagging back down in the standings again. AND are NEXT TO LAST in points in the league. The league leader, Chicago, literally has 250% more points than Buffalo
  6. Pathetic shoot-out effort. Anndddd.. we couldn't manage to rest Miller an entire game, and get him out there in a shootout without much of a warmup.
  7. Maybe it looked obvious to you... but it looked like a fairly ordinary move that ordinarily wouldn't end up with an athlete injured. Maybe a 60 yr old guy who plays on weekends, but not a young athlete. Maybe he had some kind of previous injury it aggravated?
  8. We're talking Pominville - we've seen him miss a cake shot at an empty net already this season.
  9. Pominville with bad shooting again! If only..... sigh!!!!
  10. Enroth was already down on his knees.... how the heck can he hurt his knees, protected by the pads and all? Crazy injury - I've never seen a goalie just end up hurt with no external cause before.
  11. Well, once again the lack of Kaleta was critical in this oh too common Buffalo 3rd period collapse - began with the Sabres giving up the first goal in the power play. Besides, no Kaleta on defense either.
  12. And how the blazes does Enroth get hurt on THAT? Nothing hit him!!!
  13. Well, who didn't see this coming, with the puck hanging around almost constantly in Buffalo's zone????
  14. I thought it was another power play after the penalty ended... the way the puck was just hanging around in the Buffalo zone..... then I realized the Sabres were just chillin' in their own crib. LOL
  15. Damn.... Kaleta's absence on the penalty kill is definitely felt - first Sunday, and now today. Devils get their first goal.
  16. puck is spending WAY too much time in the Buffalo zone so far. They gotta get aggressive and get down the ice
  17. I missed the first two periods, except for the last few seconds of period 2. Good to see Enroth in the net - Miller needed the rest. Since the team is playing a bit better, Jhonas is having a good game, it appears.
  18. Hopefully he can catch up to the blistering offensive pace of his BFF, Derek Roy.... who's now up to a whopping 3 goals after 17 games. Roy is playing at a Leino-like pace and could finish the season with 6 or 7 goals.... they probably have to quench the ice with water after he scorches by.
  19. Disappointing outcome. I thought Kaleta's absence, particularly when the 28th worst PP in the league scored on us, was noticeable. Kaleta is very good on penalty kills. And Rolston needs to give Ryan Miller a rest. As tired as he looked in the shootout Sunday, I'm surprised he was in the net last night.
  20. haha, I laughed when he scored yesterday, thinking of this topic I had revived. Now he's up to 2 goals in his last 25 games - he's apparently on a hot streak. LOL
  21. Yep, I agree entirely... and it cost the Sabres the game and two points, and one of their best PP defenders. It was pointless and stupid for Kaleta to do that. I still think Richards seized on opportunity and was hamming it up for maximum benefit - almost as bad as a soccer player.
  22. Sorry, guys, didn't mean to confuse. I figured I'd use the most recent Stafford topic, rather than clutter up the forums with a new one. Interesting that fans have been pointing out the guy is dead wood for at least 3 seasons now, yet Stafford lingers on the roster. I hope he goes at the end of this season.
  23. Yeah, fingers crossed for a win! The Sabres were playing SO bad just prior to Ruff's firing that I joked with a friend whom i watch the games with a lot that I would have to start wearing a paper bag over my head to his house ala New Orleans Aints fans. At least now they're playing better - maybe not Stanley Cup caliber but not completely embarrassing either.
  24. To revive an old topic... In his last 25 games, Stafford has ONE goal. He's not a defense-man ... he's a winger. That's ridiculously bad for an offensive player - I remember fans mocking Leino for, what, 8 goals in 71 games played? Stafford has become invisible on offense and completely ineffective. Frankly, he should have been sent packing with BFF Roy. Seems like he's better on defense than offense - his power play kill seems quite good actually.
