  1. Chicago and LA styles were as far apart from each other as NHL teams can get. I agree with your main point about stylistic cycles
  2. For sure. I was just adding that I think we're clown shoes on like five different levels on offense compared to other teams
  3. Also they've been doing tough practices for a week now with 3 games in 4 days ending last week, so I'd rather them take this particular day to heal up a bit before one last crack at it tomorrow.
  4. It was all because of that fated day with the military. But again, "start" is arbitrary. The team with the canceled practice also had the best start 18 game "start" for the franchise probably since 2012. You're choosing to ignore that to have your point, which is an objectively dumb point.
  5. Mahomes saw a blitz from the right last night and changed the play to a screen pass to the left. They gained about 10 yards with some glorious blocks from the WRS/LT/TE on that side, and he ripped the ball over there as about 3 Broncos were about to destroy him. Now, I think Allen will learn to make that play change (and I don't think any QB is "good" at that as early as this) but, I mean, Daboll's one screen play I saw from this weekend had zero freaking blockers in front of the WR. it went for a yard or two. It was honestly shocking.
  6. I'm fine with this too. I really don't care about the letters at all - if a player that should be C isn't leading properly because he doesn't have the C then that guy shouldn't have been the C anyway eh
  7. Well no, I just had my offseason glasses on, but now that I've seen Mitts, Berglund, Sobotka, Thompson etc. play, and readjust how those lines look to me incorporating that information, I really don't like the overall makeup of the forward group at all. And I've never liked the construction of our defense (I really like about two of our defensemen, am okay with one more, and have zero interest in watching the rest)
  8. I'm talking even with that. I don't like our veterans and want different ones. I just would have done the offseason a little differently as I've whined once or a million times about lol
  9. How they started out that season was irrelevant to one missed practice. And it depends on when you stop to look - because they started out winning just 2 of their first 6 or 7, but also had their best record over the last five years through 18 games or something at 8-8-2.
  10. He did. It was in 2015, when they added forty guys, and it was right before the season, and instead of practicing they all hung out together checking out military equipment. And you didn't give a sh*t. And you do now because you care more about narratives than being reasonable
  11. I was actually looking at the list last night and this isn't true - 8 teams still don't have captains, plenty of them are going to roll without one, including the team that lost the cup finals last year. I don't think it's a big deal if Jack is still really working at his game and they want him focusing on that rather than leading for another season or two.
  12. I wonder if pi remembers when Saint Bylsma did the same exact thing, and they all hung out doing something with the armed forces, checking out tanks and stuff like that. Does anyone remember that? It certainly wasn't a problem for him then.
  13. I decided this weekend that I detest this. Near the end of the Bills/Packers game (so, there were still ~6-7 games left to be played in full) the week's passing stats scrolled by. The 375 yard, 2TD game I saw...was the SEVENTH best passing performance of the young week. What a freaking arena-football-league joke that is. I am quite young, but even I remember a time when you could feel the field position battle that an NFL game is. You could really feel the front line shifting, being fought hard for, sometimes a yard at a time. I miss when running games felt unique and important. Now, if you're backed up at your own 3 yard line, as long as you have one of the 25 best QBs in the league you'll be at midfield within 4 plays it feels like, because the cornerback can't breakup the pass without laying a finger on the WR, and because the linebacker didn't tackle the QB softly enough. Now, I'm not saying that I want big gory hits or anything like that, so I don't want to sound like I'm dragging my knuckles. But I'm just not as interested in 500 passing yards-each slugfests as the NFL seems to be in having them.
  14. I've actually gotten the impression that Phil makes them practice harder than coaches in the past.
  15. Skinner Jack Samson Sheary Berglund Thompson Sobatka Mittelstadt Okposo Girgensons ERod Pominville I'm staring at this group, really staring at it And our bottom nine is honestly freaking dreadful. Scandella-Risto Dahlin-McCabe Beaulieu-Nelson/Bogo when healthy ...I'm revising my prediction from 75 points to 70 points
  16. Mahomes was so fun to watch tonight. That left-handed pass was ridiculous. Those WRs, TE, and RB are insanely good.
  17. Vegas Golden Knights Record last season: 51-24-7, 109 points, 1st in the Pacific Playoffs: Lost the SCF to Washington Coach: Gerard Gallant GM: George McPhee Captain: Vacant GF: 268 (5th) GA: 225 (8th) PP: 21.4% (9th) PK: 81.4% (10th) Top 5G: 1.) Erik Haula (55) Key Additions: Paul Stastny (C), Nick Holden (D), Max Pacioretty (LW) Key Losses: James Neal (RW), David Perron (LW), Luca Sbisa (D), Jason Garrison (D), Clayton Stoner (D), Tomas Tatar (LW) Projected Lineup: Marchessault - Karlsson - Smith Pacioretty - Stastny - Tuch Carr - Haula - Eakin Lindberg - Bellemare - Nosek Miller - McNabb Engelland - Holden Whitecloud - Brannstrom (Theodore/Schmidt will be back at some point) Fleury Subban Top Prospects we might/might not see 1.) Cody Glass, C, 1st round 2017 2.) Erik Brannstrom, D, 1st round 2017 3.) Nic Hague, D, 2nd round 2017 4.) Jake Leschyshyn, C, 3rd round 2017 5.) Nikita Gusev, LW, trade with Tampa My thoughts I think they'll still be pretty good. Their ceiling is what they did last year, but I could see them winning a round pretty easily, and they should make it as long as Theodore/Schmidt aren't gone forever as 2 of their best 3 D (and maybe best 2). I forget the details of each of their absence. I don't think they'll be quite as dominant though, and could see them sliding as the novelty wears off.
  18. It's gotta be the track record IMO. "Awesome camp, Alex. For your first real games since you were benched, go show us it's for real, and you'll be back before you know it."
  19. I believe Hoss also had that idea independently, so that would make sense. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've lost track of where we are at forwards but is there any chance that they make a waiver pickup? I'm specifically thinking Jaskin or Khunakl (I haveno idea how to spell his name)
  20. I have to say, our opening night roster is not going to have the levels of fat trimmed that I would have liked. Hoping the prospects change that this year (like they're supposed to every year and never do)
  21. BBFC Bailey Baptiste Fasching Carrier
  22. At the very least, you know a street WR is going to play his ass off for you. You can't tell me KB is doing that, and he's dropping as many balls as a street FA likely would, so I can get in line with that thinking.
  23. There's a 30 day time limit I think, so they must be certain that they want him in Roch and that Bogo will be fine within 4 weeks to allow them to do so. As far as I can tell, anyway
  24. He's the 13F that doesn't make mistakes even though he doesn't do much in the way of great things either. Certainly an upgrade to most the guys you reference.
  25. At least twice
