Hurricanes Sign Jake Gardiner: 4 year deal
Randall Flagg replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
The official story is that we were in in-depth talks with the Canes, and jame thinks it was 1 for 1 Lindholm for ROR, but I talked to the guy he got that from on twitter and the guy could only confirm that the Sabres really wanted Lindholm but the Canes weren't willing to pay the bonus. -

Two Septembers ago, these Devils prospects ran us over, we would go 5 minutes at a time without puck control in the offensive zone. Last year and this one, we've looked like the better group. It may not mean much but it's a nice feeling. -

I believe it has something to do with the fact that the teams could be sued for violating something about the TV deal if they were to stream these for everyone to see? I'm not sure of the details though. PM me if you want details on how I'm watching -

I'll actually be able to watch the next two periods closer too, was cooking (and burning) dinner while watching out of the corner of my eye there -
I'd argue that the ONLY thing our coaching staff is is "inspiring" ?

Cozens is a very strong skater, and you can see in the way he generates speed that he's going to become even more powerful as his frame fills out. It's pretty obvious to me that the thing he needs to work on most is his hands. And he will. When they catch up to how fast he can move and how fast NHL opponents are, he's going to be a very effective NHLer. -

I'm hoping my chrome VLC will work again. I will refrain from posting about that more if that's not a legal way to do things, I don't know anything about the details. Can somebody that gets the stream post the link to it? Is it just njd.TV? -
They're better at QB (from what we know at least), RB, and WR, and that's a pretty key group of positions. While the Bills' D is good, their pass rush may be problematic and there were random areas like red zone defense that were just awful and would prevent me from calling it elite. However, with as hard as it is to gauge both where the Bills' offense is and where everything about the Jets is, given the 2 QBs' potential development, and new coaches/Bell on their end, I agree that I can't see this game being anything worse than a 50/50 toss up, and if the Jets are widely favored it's more because of their splashy, headline-filled offseason than what a direct roster comparison should give you

Eichel - 30 Skinner - 36 Reinhart - 24 Johansson - 13 Sheary - 12 Olofsson - 18 Vesey - 14 Okposo - 12 Mittelstadt - 15 Larsson - 4 Girgensons - 4 Rodrigues - 9 The rest of the forwards that will play: 6 Dahlin - 10 Risto - 7 Montour - 6 McCabe - 3 Scandella - 4 Bogosian - 2 Miller - 7 Pilut/Joki/the rest - 2 Total: 238 In reality not that many forwards will hit double digits, but maybe some of them over-achieve.

Right - the question is whether or not out-of-towners can watch these streams. Last year, the streams were on the teams' websites, but only people in those cities could watch them. -

Another concern is that now teams can move to Faulk if they don't want to pony up for Risto. -

I'm just trying to stem the slight letdown I feel - I was partial to those scenarios where we flip Risto to upgrade the forwards and then bring in Gardiner such that our defense wasn't even a man down, much less worse -

Twitter was saying that you can only watch them if you live in the area though just like last year, even though they were technically "all broadcasted" -
That sorrrrrrrrrrta confirms that Risto may have at least softly requested a trade, eh? In what other context would Jack have framed that that way
-
Olofsson says himself on the Instigators that he can and has played the right side before. Perhaps we don't need to choose between Jeff and Victor on Jack's wing after all!

Well that's a quote

Okay, everyone who is out of town - the Devils' site is streaming tonight, without any geo-block. So everyone can watch the Devils' stream. The other games, we may have to figure something out. -
I'm taking four credit hours of classes this semester, and when it's done, I will automatically pick up an along-the-way Master's degree by virtue of having passed my three qualifying exams at a PhD level. I've decided that when that happens, I'm coming home. The last six months have been an episode of me slowly losing any interest whatsoever in my physics research. It was in the regime of experimental particle physics. Learning about the ATLAS software and everything that goes into that stuff was so painful because there is no concrete, textbook-like resource for you to read and pick up on things. It wound up turning into me showing up to my adviser with 500 questions every day, about 40% of which he could answer, and I would come out more confused than before. All the while, looking for particles that I don't actually believe to exist. It wasn't fulfilling and I found myself making my office hours and teaching duties last longer and longer to avoid doing it, because I enjoyed that part of it so much more. When I realized that I enjoyed the teaching more than any other part of grad school (though classes are still always interesting to me) I realized that I should probably duck out now, and try and find a job that will pay me more than this stipend does. I am so excited to be coming home to every person I've ever known and loved. I'm also terrified about not being able to get a job. But I'll try my best. And I'm ready for the next stage in my life.

I used a VLC player last year to watch these from OK. I don't really know what that is, but I assume it would work again this year? -
This Bills roster would finish 8-8 if Josh Allen had Trubisky's exact season last year I know he's been your guy for a while but he's soooo mediocre
