  1. What's everybody's top 5 (or 10 if you're feeling it) skaters?

    For me:

    1. Crosby

    2. Malkin

    3. Stamkos

    4. Weber

    5. Ovechkin

    6. Getzlaf

    7. Datsyuk

    8. Toews

    9. Tavares

    10. Suter

    That's a bit of a quick list.

first making a pool; Stamkos, Crosby, Malkin, Datsyuk, Toews, Kane, Tavares, Weber, Karlsson, Seguin, Benn, Getzlaf, Perry, Sedins, Pietrangelo, Keith, Bergeron, Giroux, Kopitar, Doughty, Kassian, Kessel, Duchene, Landeskog, Staal, Ovechkin, Pavelski (Just trying not to miss anyone)

    1.Crosby

    2.Geno

    3.Toews

    4.Stamkos

    5.Getzlaf

    6.Weber

    7.Tavares

    8.Datsyuk

    9.Kane

    10.Bergeron

  2. I'd put Stamkos ahead of all of them.

I really like Stamkos too, and think he's a better player, but I think Getzlaf's playoff experience would have me pick him over Stamkos assuming I could field a cup-competitive team right away.

I'd but Weber in there somewhere.

Weber is the best defenseman I've ever watched (yes, I am very young and recognize that)

  3. I don't understand how Boychuk is allowed to dump Abdelkader there when he doesn't have the puck. I understand that they're allowed to "battle" for it, but that wasn't a battle, that was a hit. It's interference.

    But this is the playoffs.

They called it in the CB/PIT game last night, was almost a replica play.
  4. 43, Because Marty Biron. Always will be my first choice.

I actually hate the 30s. especially 30 itself. No real reason, but I used to play goal and it bothered me that all of my favorite goalies were so uniform.

90s are cool to wear, except, as mentioned above, 99.

  5. In the 19 years the NHL has used the lottery system to determine the team that get's the #1 pick, only 6 times has the team that finished with the worst record picked first. "Tank on".

That's higher than the 25% chance they have, too. So, looks like we'll be picking second to help that number return to the norm
  6. I have Chicago beating Montreal.

I had filled and saved a bracket yesterday, and when I signed in it automatically made that my picks for this league so I didn't have to redo it, and had the same outcome. The look of the series with the iconic sweaters would be amazing.
  7. So the Sabres can have the first overall pick, the second overall pick, the first and fifth picks, the second and fifth picks or the second and sixth overall picks. Any other scenarios missing?

First and second, if the Islanders win the lottery and give us the pick.

    hehehe.

  8. It's been, uh, fun  everyone. But seriously, these threads and the others have kept me very entertained while the team has not been able to do so, and thank you all, and you're all wonderful. Even though I don't post that often, I read every day and look forward to an eventful offseason, where the Islanders defer so we can rely on their pick to tank while we put an entertaining team out on the ice next year!! (please oh please I hope this is the case)

  9. I should have his affliction. Maybe I could pay my bills at least.

Sounds perceptive to me about the depression. A player in his situation has got to be very unhappy. He's got to be sorry he ever agreed to Pegula's offer.

    Careful what you wish for.

Or, maybe it's bigger than hockey.

  10. So it looks like he's back after dizziness/migraines/difficulty focusing....

I seriously wonder if he is dealing with depression issues.

It seems to me, this may be the case, though of course we're no doctors, nor close friends. Still troubling to imagine.

I bet getting paid like 10 million plus dollars this off season will perk his spirits up.....

Not everyone worships money...sometimes the poorest in spirit are the richest in wealth. I hope the guy is alright.
