  1. Come on Jeff! Tage and Mitts looking good. That touch pass from Hall was the best thing he's done since game 1
  2. Can't believe they didn't call that a trip on us. Nice chances
  3. Full disclosure, I don't have the game on
  4. At least 4 times per game in every hockey game I watch, I am convinced the linesmen incorrectly blow a rush dead. You'd think the existence of the stupid challenge would make them the opposite of cautious.
  5. I think the original issue was the (understandable) mistake that 23 is half of 56. But, I might just be reading that sentence wrong. Your point is well taken though!
  6. Not following your math there
  7. If Chad is right, I don't think Rutherford is building our roster. And even if he was building our roster, I don't think he'd treat it the same way as he'd treat a Penguins roster trying to win now and wring more cups out of Crosby/Malkin. But this rumor says that KA would retain final authority on making trades and roster moves
  8. I kinda like this.
  9. I want him back. I would trade him for a reasonable return if he says he wants to test the market. In either case, I would attempt to bring in a goalie better than him in the offseason.
  10. The existence of a dip in Skinner's scoring can be attributable to the fact that he needs to be handled very specifically to get stuff out of him, because he's pretty bad at passing/hockey sense/defense himself. The severity and length of the dip in Skinner's scoring simply cannot be attributed entirely to this. When he played with Sobotka and a 3rd line LW to start last season, he still managed to score 7 goals in his first 13 games, and maintained a 32 goal pace through 28 games. It's not all Jeff needs to just sack up and do better and be better, but it's certainly not even close to being all a "usage" issue either.
  11. I've thought about this before, if I owned a team, it'd be hard to balance the fact that I definitely want to be in the room just as a fan because it's really interesting and exciting, with the possibility that my presence could be off-putting, making people second guess the logic/instincts that brought them here in the first place, mildly threatening etc.
  12. Back in October, one perhaps envisioned a spirited debate about the merits of signing Taylor Hall to a longer term deal after this season was up, likely in the context of making a choice between Sam Reinhart and the former-MVP, with reservations centered around mid versus longer term because of his age and injury history. One probably did not envision this discussion to be NS vs. the field.
  13. Buffalo Sabres PP% with Eichel: 29.8% (17/57) Buffalo Sabres PP% without Eichel: 10.3% (3/29) Historically, since Eichel's high ankle sprain in 2016: Buffalo Sabres PP% with Eichel: 21.4% (182/850) Buffalo Sabres PP% without EIchel : 17.1% (27/158) Last 3 seasons only: Buffalo Sabres PP% with Eichel: 20.8% (99/477) Buffalo Sabres PP% without Eichel: 9.76% (4/41) 2016-17 through last year: Buffalo Sabres PP% with Eichel: 20.8% (165/793) Buffalo Sabres PP% without Eichel: 18.6% (24/129) The gap is fairly small until it explodes this season. Weird
  14. I think the performative white-knighting and subtweeting reminiscent of high school lunch tables is a worse look than anything LaPerreausek has said lol
  15. I didn't see the Boston game, but Skinner had a turnover in the Pittsburgh game that led to a goal which deflated us after a good start. Granato has given him his 2 most-played-in games on the year. Only 1 of Jeff's 12 lowest-ice-time games were under Granato Also, just because that line is listed 4th in a tweet doesn't mean it'll get the 4th most usage. The only difference appears to me to be that Mitts got a promotion for his good play.
  16. I am not a huge fan of Chad's Twitter account, but I gave the podcast a listen and he is much more tolerable there.
  17. Feels like a big deal. Like it could be exactly what we need. Please come through, all involved.
  18. Everything tangible/believable I've ever ready about Eichel suggests he's humble and reserved - that if his leadership was lacking, it wouldn't be because he's an arrogant douche, but because he's too quiet/unsure. But I'd be interested to hear where you got this from!
  19. Has bozak become that much of an anchor ?
  20. Surprised to read dat konecny has been a healthy scratch.
  21. There was a shift just last game where he followed a dump in without moving his legs an inch, just gliding disinterested, and it unexpectedly came free enough dat he could have had a chance at a shot, but he didn't accelerate toward it at all. It was inexplicable, and his entire season has been just gliding and reaching half-heartedly
  22. If he was just bad it'd be one thing. His effort was sometimes disgraceful.
