Ironically I’ll be in Anaheim, when the Ducks are in Buffalo -

Between Vacations and Work, I am going to miss the most games I have in quite a few years. Great timing huh? -
Northeastern plays at Lowell and Harvard the Day after the Sabres play Their Two Games in Boston. I imagine Levi will be invited to the AM Skate and to sit with Adams for the Game

Any deal would have to include an extension for Tkatchuk and the Sabres are not in a position to give up the assets necessary to make the deal as they are not one player away. Add that they already have a Winger making 9 million AAV, it puts them in a difficult spot. That being said, even as winger, Tkatchuk is a play driving monster with great defensive metrics.

The earliest the Sabres Can sign Poltapov is for the 2025-26 Season. Neuchev is on record saying that He wants to come to the NHL, He would be eligible to sign next offseason. Novikov will be an interesting case. He is eligible to be signed next offseason, but he dropped on Teams Draft Boards as there was concern whether He would actually leave the KHL. Perhaps Lubushkin can help with that. The Geopolitical Realities of the world might be the biggest barrier though.

Calgary is about to go from winning the division to drafting Connor Bednard in less than 12 months

If Peterka is pushing for Bottom Six Minutes on the Sabres, He would be much better off in Rochester playing on the Top Line. i do like the rest of the lines though

I’m at work right now with 3 people under the age of 30, only one has a printer. The other two do not see a need for one -

Plenty of teams need to shed salary before season start
Brawndo replied to ddaryl's topic in The Aud Club
Per Friedman this is absolutely correct. Teams wanted the Philly 2023 1st, Philly was offering Florida’s 2024 1st instead. So no deal. Jeff Marek also speculated that The Flyers realized they were 40 points out of the playoffs and that Gaudreau wasn’t making up the difference. Although signing Risto and DeAngelo to contracts worth of 10 Million AAV, isn’t going to either. -

Adams mentioned about trying to get Him signed In One of His Media Availabilities pre draft. He will be in town for the prospects tournament in September, so it could happen then

After listening to Levi talk about Adams and listen to how the other prospects are excited about the future of the organization, I take solace in the fact that if He and Portillo sign elsewhere, it won’t be because the organization is toxic or has a crappy future. It will be because they chose a different path

The Athletic’s Scott Wheeler had them First Last Year, they probably stay there -
Sabres Sign Matt Savoie, Noah Östlund and Jiri Kulich to ELCs

That wasn’t Your Question. Your question was should We draft some D. The Sabres, as You know, in the past five drafts have spend Two First Overall Picks, 31st and 32nd on Defenseman, all still under the Age of 23. They have drafted Defenseman. Jokiharju and Bryson are part of a group of players who need to establish what Their Roles are moving into the future. Bryson has proven to have good defensive metrics so He could be a good 3rd pairing D-Man. The Sabres have constructed a very good analytics department who will be able to find players such as Lyubuskin on cheap deals when needed. In terms Power’s Partner on the second pairing, if or more likely when Jokiharju doesn’t measure up to the task, a trade or less likely another UFA Signing could fill the role. One advantage of having arguably the deepest forward prospect in the NHL is that one of them could be used as a trade chip. Couple that with Two First Round Picks and Four Second Round Picks in the next two drafts, the team does have trade capital. I do believe the Sabres are going to follow the Nashville Model, particularly when it comes to building the defense. They have two dominant defenseman in Josi and Ekholm and usually one very good homegrown defenseman. The Sabres potentially have that in Dahlin, Power and Samuelsson. They usually have a lower pairing drafted defenseman (Bryson) and a UFA Signing. They also have a player they traded for, TBD in this case. Hopefully Ryan Johnson decides to sign after Minnesota completes it season as He would be two to three years away from becoming a NHL Regular if He continues on His Development Pathway. Lindgren is probably three to four years, but can project into a second pairing role if He or Power can play on their off hand. That being said I would have drafted one of the RHD at 41, but that’s just me.
