  1. The Saddledome (or whatever it's called now) in Calgary is very old. And it looks terrible.
  2. Sorry for calling you out on this. The weather is down right tropical. Very fitting since TS Phillipe will be arriving over-night on Saturday / Sunday.
  3. Also available in Canada on Amazon.ca .. will be ordering soon. Knowing some of the details of your story it will be a somber read. Thank you to both of you.
  4. We still have a Fantastic Friday thread, but it does not seem to be opened often. The OP is not around a lot to take care of that like you are now.
  5. And that Nylander on waivers yesterday, so the Sabres could get him back for nothing. Win / win ?? Probably not.
  6. I think you are right, but the biggest non starter haas to be Power with Joker. Mule and Dahlin worked so well last year and I think EJ is perfect example and will cover up for Joker as he matures. I like Joker and I think he will be a good player, but he needs the right partner now. I think he is 26 now so he is nearing the point where he will be who he is.
  7. I'd have Mule with Dahlin; Power and Clifton; Joker and EJ. Other than that and UPL in the rafters in Rochester and Comrie as backup an we are set for opening night. KO in for either VO or Jost. I hear you, brother. I graduated in 1985. Exactly 20 years before before Benson was born. WTF !!
  8. And including UPL. Comrie as backup and KO on the 4th line and we have an opening night roster with either Jost of VO sitting out.
  9. Maybe we could convince KA and DG that they need to carry 4 goalers and make that 100% for sure.
  10. That is my lineup (lines and D combos too) on opening night and every night after that unless someone gets hurt. Only thing I add and only for clarity that there is not a 3 goalie situation ... starter = Levi and backup is Comrie (who always looks a little cross-eyed to me).
  11. It's just preseason, but UPL is at least #3 on the G depth chart and I see no reason to carry 3 on the active roster. Sorry, pal, but it's to Rochester or some place else for you. I think Rochester will do for now. It's just preseason, but the experiement with the kids is over. The remaining games and practice needs to be with the rostered players + only 1 or 2.
  12. Don't foget about the snow. Even on the last day of school in June.
  13. I hope that all is well @Doohickie. TS Phillipe will be passing through overnight Saturday / Sunday. This is getting to be a *normal* thing.
  14. Jimmy has some moves .. 😎
  15. The D overall will be fine. The first callup is RJ. I think that KA has something else up his sleeve too.
  16. In other news .. I expect the exact same from Gus as we have always received. I didn't have to check to see who the 1 SabreSpacer is that tossed the turd into the punch bowl. (insert winkie thingie here)
  17. I didn't say they expected him to be hurt. I don't think anyone does. He will play 50 to 55 games and rest for the rest. That's my expectation and I think that is what the Sabres are planning for.
  18. He was never expected to play all 82. He was brought in to play 50 to 55 and to spend the rest as mentor in the room and practice. The hope is that he will be able to play in the playoff too. That is when his experience will be most appreciated.
  19. The were touring with The Who on their *farewell* tour. I saw them on that same tour, but I am almost certain it was 1982. Tory Crimes (Terry Chimes) was back behind the drum kit as Topper was having a tough go of it with heroin at the time. Great show, but terrible venue (CNE Stadium in The Great Satan - a terrible venue for just about any event). I left right after The Clash who played just before The Who, if I recall correctly. Anyway, I did not stay for The Who.
  20. We had a Nissan Sentra for 15 years when it just all of a sudden died and put is in a spot. We both hate car shopping. A neighbout / friend gve us her 1995 Ford Tempo (you heard me) to get to and fro minimally while we shopped a bit. I get that you don't want to get caught. We ended up with a Corrola - great car and will give you a very reliable 15+ years easy. Another option would be a Civic. Another great and basic car. Both can be jazzed up if wanted, but why bother. We got a great deal on the Corolla - dealer sales person used it to get to and from work from the suburbs and that is all they could use it for. At 8,000 KM (not even broken in after 6 months) the dealer swaps them out. Got it for $7,500 lower than brand new. New (here in Canada) either would run you about $25,000 taxes and all that junk in. Not that many hatchback options out there these days. Corolla does have one and it looks terrible. I am more of a sedan and truck / boot kind of guy.
  21. In late 1979 (I had turned 15 in October) this tune and album changed my life ...
