Well freedom has come then. Not making excuses for Stafford...he's under-performed. But the most troubling stat for me on the roster isn't Stafford or Foligno's lack of production. It is that Ennis only has 5 even strength assists and he's leading all forwards in even strength ice time. Two of those assists came in the same game. 5 even-strength assists. That's behind Steve Ott, tied with Hecht, and only one more than Grigorenko. That is all. He is not moving the puck to the scoring areas. Darcy went all in on this bet. Darcy lost. Ennis isn't a center.

If I'm the coach I'm parking him in the crease on every powerplay esp. on the second unit with Hodgson. Let him play the bull. That's why he's on the roster.

In fairness, the guy has played what? 30 or 40 NHL games. He's got the talent. Big forwards go cold. That's what they do. I think you stick with him. I'd like to see him in the crease on the powerplay. Its not like he could hurt the powerplay by being out there.

Very true. Say what you want about Yo-yo, but he's a pretty safe player to throw out there in lock-down mode.

I don't listen much. But I can pretty much tell you in the next five minutes somebody will be talking about why having a consistent starting goal-tender isn't really what the team needs, and somewhere there is a team that has a guy on a run for 15 games that is cheap that allows us to consider that starting goal-tending can really be found anywhere.

Hecht was a good player. I think he's a safe player to put in any lineup even today. Heck (no pun), the fact he's one of three forwards on this roster with a plus rating is testament to his smarts. That he has it with one goal is practically a miracle. Does he deserve it? Not really. He's done his job. Still......this team has to get any marketable assets some ice time to see what we have before trade deadline. Everyone in the league knows Hecht's game, but at 35, he's hardly the future.
