  1. He looks more like the gangster of love to me.
  2. I broke with my personal rule of no chains and went to a Carrabas last month. (My family's choice....they ganged up on me) Blah. I've been to an Olive Garden once. Blah. I think it was in 1997. I was also tricked three years ago, and brought to a Cheesefactory or something like that. Blah.
  3. I can think of a couple bad goals in that series from the series by Van Remsdyk's. Other than that...Miller faced a barrage of high quality shots. Almost every shot was inside the circles. Miller was amazing. Not all shots are created equal. The shot charts from that series were ridiculous. Almost every shot he stopped in that series was a high quality scoring opportunity. Seriously, charting shots in that series, Miller was the one that kept them in it.
  4. Carolina has had only 2 players from outside the first round pan out in the last decade. McBain and Faulk in the 2nd round. They are probably the definition of the small market.
  5. I think I got it as a joke gift when the Sabres picked up Toni Tanti.
  6. :) I guess I didn't think coaching was the problem, or the answer. Does Chef's have free breadstix? I haven't been there in years.

  8. How I see it? Miller got them to game 7 in that series. He was the one that kept them in it until then. That team was totally over-matched, there was no offensive or defensive line left. Hell they dropped Gerbe to center in the defensive zone that game. It was brutal. Somehow you watched that and thought Miller was the problem. I thought it was an Injured Roy, an Injured Hecht, and Nate Gerbe, and Rob Neidermeyer for your 1-4 in the middle against a relentless forecheck that was the problem. 2 shutouts in that series. Even game 6 Miller kept them in it with almost every shot from down low in the slot....Philly must have had 50 shots. The good news for you, even like Lindy, he'll be gone someday. Time is on your side. You might even be 2 for 2 this year.
  9. I used to have one of them!
  10. I'm not going to start comparing the two....but Rolston so far has led the Sabres to a win over only one team that is likely to make the playoffs and that was on Tuesday- Montreal. Comparing the two stints this year is like judging a beauty pageant for recently recovered Meth users. "Oooh, look at her, she has slightly more hair and fewer openly festering boils. She's our winner!"
  11. It took me a second to get the Draper reference. I was thinking about the guy who came up for a cup of coffee when we had Fuhr and Poops. Very few goalies inspire great affection. But I think the hardest positions to fill in this game are #1 center, and franchise goalie. Having said all that.....I think this is a good time to move Miller. Except.....I don't see a plan B in sight for goal-tending that makes this team better, or immediate answers to the problem at center. This team could easily have a goalie problem and a center problem. Move Miller and I don't trust Darcy to fix either problem in the short run. In the long run, I'm hopeful about Grigs, Girgs, and Hodgson going forward but most likely that lineup is still a few years away from seasoning.
  12. You were right. There. Feel better? :P
  13. I think I forgot about Edmonton and NY Islanders.....I'm not sure I can name their regular starters at the moment.
  14. Half rims just feel like a tease, don't they? Full rim or contacts I say.
  15. When the Sabres are on their 5th or 6th goalie, looking for a steady guy to begin each year....you may, you might, you could just might miss Ryan Miller. I've spent nearly a decade not worrying about the goal-tending. Now if you are from Toronto, Philly, Tampa, Columbus, or a host of other teams... even Chicago right now should be worried about goal-tending. That's all.
  16. Good thinking. Hockey Rulz 1. If yer named Gordon, you have to sit the whole game 2. Tip your Barkeep in Erie County 3. Some hard working Buffalo dude worked hard to buy tickets to sell to you. 4. We just put in 3 to make you realize you paid too much. 5. Peace bridge closes at 9PM, we think, hell we don't know, you usually come this way for last call dontcha? Why you asking?
  17. Little ball of hate. I miss those old Hartford teams. (more than i miss the NJ X-mas pajamas, anyway.)
  18. Man...thanks for that.. Some thoughts...Wendell Clark was a tough SOB. Chelios had Probert when he was captain of the Blackhawks. I seem to remember those as bad teams. It's been a while. Gillies I seem to remember asked not to be captain...or they always talked about him as the unlettered captain. He didn't want it because he thought it hurt his game. With Ott I just think that all the crap he pulls behind the play, the last thing he wants are the refs attentions.
  19. Agreed.
  20. Hire Duds. My bet would be he doesn't keep the Lenscrafters guy.
  21. good luck with the scotch tape and confetti from the shredder.
  22. He looks a lot stronger than last year, IMO. Enough that I was pleasantly surprised by his progress.
  23. I am somewhat amused by the suggestions that Ott should be captain. He's going to be the designated guy to talk to officials? Ott has to play a particular game to be successful. The less he talks to officials the better. I can't think of too many Captains that led their teams in penalty minutes. ......Terry O'Reilly maybe, Dale Hunter maybe. ....
