  1. I think of him as a Skinner with a little more strength.
  2. Best cup of coffee I've ever had was in Da Nang. No lie.
  3. Not Veronica Lake hand-feeding her Cocker Spaniel?
  4. there are worries about Rychel's skating - he doesn't have much of a burst from stop or acceleration - and worries about his ability to backcheck at the next level. He's more of a power-forward - so much more risk in picking him. You never really know how a powerforward's game will translate at the next level. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=qKI28NUQK3g Shinkaruk has elite skills - in other drafts he might be in the top 5 discussion. Generally speaking - Shinkaruk is just outside the most elite grouping. He's an NHL player. Rychel is in that 20-35 grouping where there is a great chance he'll make it in time, but certainly no lock to be an NHL player.
  5. McCabe ahead of Pysyk, Girgenson, and Larson?
  6. Just a little salt is all that is needed.
  7. It would only be sad if you ruined it by making it sweet.
  8. Number 5. --- - - - the thought of the goat or the slug still pains me -- - the old is still the best. But we already knew that.
  9. The Nords - Sabres games used to be my favorite games. That the teams were ever pulled out of Winnipeg and Q.C. was a crime.
  10. The Norris should be voted on by the players. If a player is trying to score, which defender would he least like to see on the ice, I can't believe the first name they would write down is Subban.
  11. There something not quite right with that selection. The best defender in the league? Subban? Montreal press holding grudge against Chara I guess.
  12. Sports hatred is a pure, unspoiled thing. Beautiful in its own way. Yes, I would enjoy watching Milbury force fed his own socks.
  13. Your mamma sure does care about your schoolin, son. -Forrest Gump
  14. He was a Flyer first which pretty much made him evil incarnate.
  15. Ahem...... #KennyLindsmanRatFrickinFaceReallyReallySucks otherwise I feel the same.
  16. Keep it up
  17. I think it just wasn't a fit. Robyn Regehr is a finishing piece to a championship caliber team. Buffalo wasn't a championship caliber team. Regehr knew what they were trying to do. He bought in. He didn't have to waive. He probably could have worked something out at less than market with Buffalo. Darcy gave him a gift re-uniting him with Darryl Sutter. Now if Regehr says he was mistreated, that's one thing - but I don't think the organization loses any credibility. Veteran players get moved around, and I don't think anybody raises an eyebrow. Regehr went from a loser in Calgary, to a loser in Buffalo, to LA. But somehow there are damaging hard feelings? I don't think so. Just my take.
  18. Thanks for that. :) Sometimes I must remind myself I spend way too much time thinking hockey.
  19. FWIW I know that Bucky Gleason agreed with GODD...but contrary,he wasn't in the hurry, it came down to Buffalo not talking extension. Which I think was the right decision. But we have to remember, every possible move, even the good ones, only hurt Buffalo's credibility on this forum. Even if it gets them 2 2nd round picks.
  20. Regehr was interested in staying. But that doesn't fit your narrative.
  21. Also, It is incredibly unlikely. That's not much leverage. (and less salary than his QO).
  22. If he's tendered a Qualifying offer....he has to accept it, sign an offer sheet with a different club, negotiate, or sit out. It's not that solid.
  23. The assumption that anyone who gets a raise won't work as hard seems very Buffalonian.
  24. Bickell's agent is probably looking at a 6-8 team market for his services.
  25. Forget Buffalo then, why go to last place St. Louis. that won 20 games? (Why not any other franchise?) Did Jay McKee lack pride? Not at all. money, the prospect of first pairing time, a captaincy perhaps, security, family, all counted into that decision (right, Jay?).....and St. Louis was in rough, rough shape. (Buffalo just won more games this year in a 48 game season than 2005-06 St. Louis in a 82 game season). He believed he could win there despite all evidence. It is the athlete's nature.
