Jack Edwards not just being bad, but gloriously bad.
"With the point of the dagger at their throats, they rip it out of Toronto's hands and kill the beast!!!"
Their top end talent at forward is undeniable - as are their flaws.
Their speedy forwards had a favorable match-ups with the Pens D - which is a good defense - but Orpik, Murrray, Eaton, and even Martin had trouble containing their speed.
What a thrilling overtime in Toronto last night.
Carlyle really had the better of the night, sending his skaters in waves, and out-chancing the Bruins in OT..
That's a tough loss.
Slightly more like a fifth at the moment.
As per the Boston-Toronto series:
Funny how much of the hockey world is waking up thinking, "Nice pinch, Dion."
Kotalik wasn't a loafer....he just lacked the natural instinct of a Canadian kid that has played 4000 hours on a pond.
He couldn't think his way through a game.
He did have a nice backhand shootout move though.
I'd move the Sedins now and Burrows, and of course Loungo.
I'd also look to get faster on the back end.
Roy, Malholtra, and Raymond are UFA's - I wouldn't be too worried about them at this point.
Vancouver is in decline. I'd blow it up now.
Tavares alone makes them dangerous, put a decent goalie behind that waiver wire defense and they got a punchers chance against anyone.
BTW...... the one player on that roster I always had hoped Buffalo could wriggle from the Island was Casey Cizikas.
Loved his game at the World Juniors in Buffalo.
He's old school. Playoff press conferences get interesting because coach's draw the attention off of young teams.
He knows Montreal is tight......He opens his presser with, "This is just fun!, Whooo!"
Imagine the Islanders with a goaltender. They are fun to watch. Pond hockey with Tavares is like asymmetrical warfare against the Pens. Tavares reminds me of Crosby in 2007.
I wonder where the Canucks go from here after that sweep. I think they restructure.
The Walrus has owned that series against Therrien. He's got Therrien mumbling to himself.
Looking like the 16th pick is ours. Thanks Chicago.
Usually the next game is a bit of a let down. These games don't get away unless the score gets away.
The Refs will also call things tight from the beginning. They will send people off for the first burp.
I always thought that if Paille was taken 12 spots lower....say early second round, he would still be in Buffalo.
Nobody would have a problem with what Paille does coming out of the second round.
If Alain Vigneault gets fired next week, would you prefer him to Ron Rolston? How about Mike Yeo?
There really is no hurry with Rolston.....it's not like he has another NHL job waiting.
After Paille picked Kessel for a goal I couldn't help but think, Paille is a solid 3rd liner and PKer, but because he was a first rounder he would always been thought of as an underachiever in Buffalo with less than 20 goal numbers.
Good for him though.
