  1. I'll go with 50% coach speak. Obviously we have a top line, but he really wants everyone to feel they play an important role. I just hope he doesn't start handing out participation trophies, lol.
  2. So what is Ralph’s system? I listened to him say puck pressure, and playing strong away from the puck. It looks to me like they treat the other team having the puck like a football passing play. The player with the puck gets pressured by whoever is in the area while the over players play man coverage. So if everyone is covered the “QB” has to dump the puck away and that’s why we are seeing so many turn overs. Or something like that. At least that’s what it looks like they are doing.
  3. He really seems into the psychological and sociological aspects of team building. Very positive and not showing any doubt or indecision he has them really playing together. The passing is unbelievable and that just shows how much they have bought into his concepts. In pre-season I noticed Tage Thompson do something no body else was doing, he took off with the puck and tried to go through several players, but lost it and the other team counter attacked for a scoring chance. I think that's why he isn't here now.
  4. McCabe gets up laughing like a crazy man! ?
  5. I didn't know Audette was a captain Campbell looks like he is still 18 years old
  6. I'm betting the fourth line gets a goal tonight
  7. —- from wgr: Many former captains will be in attendance for the game including Gerry Meehan, Gil Perreault, Danny Gare, Stu Barnes, Brian Gionta, Michael Peca, Mike Foligno, Floyd Smith and Craig Rivet. They should invite some of them up to the booth to chat. Love to hear what they are up to.
  8. Perspective is everything! Need this game to see if our team is for real, or that Pittsburg was just the over the hill gang. * I’d like to see the power play be a big factor and lead the way. Get er done! * Be nice to see if our long lead passes continue. Was Pitts defense just slow and pathetic or is the system just that good? * I’m guessing NJ has more team speed than Pitt had so this might be a decent test to see how our defense handles that. * No games this early in the season are must win, but the home opener against a not so good team, new coach, big win the other night, they really need to back up their opening night win with a win here. A loss would be a really bad sign. Go Sabres!
