Setting up the hip check that Risto loves so much. Best case for Jake on that play was to maybe gain some peripheral vision, receive the pass and try and get past Risto on the boards, where he likely would have been rubbed out with a less punishing hit. Worst case would be continuing to keep his head down, receive the pass and Risto absolutely unloads on him. In my opinion, he got the 2nd worst case scenario.

We only have 1 defenseman. We do not develop players well at all, evidenced by the Amerks sucking for a very long time. I expect very little to nothing from any of Baptist, Bailey, Hudson, or Guhle. Hopefully Kane has found his consistency, and can stay healthy. Okposo has never impressed me, and I hope ROR continues being ROR (although, I feel he's been a little down this year). Jack and Sam were already very good when we got them. Hopefully they both can remain healthy and productive. But we have absolutely no defense. Risto got tossed tonight and McCabe forgot how to play hockey. Gorges is 200 years old, bogosian is truly awful, apparently and that's all she friggin wrote.

Is that lineup going to scare any team in the league?

He's got waaaaaay less shots than Jack. The kid is a finisher. He's a garbage picker, but he's a finisher.

If I'm the penguins I keep letting Reinhart do that stick handle to the back hand all night long. He takes the puck down too low to even attempt to do anything useful. It's just a waste of clock and then a turnover.
