There is a bit of a drop off after the 8th pick where the next group of 6 make up picks 9 through 14
  4. I agree that they Should move both the Blues and Islanders Picks to move up the draft board into the top 10 and get a high end scorer. Assuming both make the playoffs we can pray that they both lose out in round 1 and have two picks in the mid to late teens. If you take Hanifin, I would also try to figure out how to get Larkin out of Detroit (or another high end prospect winger a year or two into their pro careers) in a package deal that would include Myers.

  7. Sherry Basin (Erie Otters GM) on Sabres Hockey Hotline: He brings up Hanifin after being asked about the Eichel / McDavid debate. here is what he said about Noah Hanifin: "He is as a good of a defenceman as I’ve ever had or ever had my team play against. He can skate, he can do so many things - he is unbelievable and he is 6-2”
  8. I was more comparing size but there is a chance Marner gets into Kane territory. He is currently avg 1.91PPG however in last 9 games he is scoring at a 3.11PPG clip. Kane avg 2.5PPG in the 06-07 Season. Kane also played his draft year perdominately as a 18 year old (Nov bd) while Mitch wont turn 18 till near the draft (May BD)
  9. Patrick Kane from the Knights - 5-10 162lbs seems to have turned out ok

  12. I still haven't seen any rankings where Hanifan falls out of the top 3 but if the Sabres somehow end up with the 4th pick put me down for team Marner. All this kid does is put points up points at a McDavid pace this last month - 17 Goals (including 4 hat tricks) 11A in his last 9 games. Including back to back OHL player of the weeks. just to put things into perspective Corey Perry (Knights all time leading scorer) put up 59points in his rookie year in London and 78points 1.16PPG the next year. Marner also put up 59 on a 3rd line role with London last year (very little power play time). This year he has 44 points in 23 games 1.93 PPG. If Reinhart turns out to be our Toews then maybe Marner is our Kane?
  13. That is why with the exception of Zadorov - all are spending time in the AHL. 4 reasons why the Oilers are stuck in rebuild: 1) Prospects spend absolutely no time in the Minors. Same mistake made this year by forcing Draisatl into the 2nd line centre spot. 2) Perdominately drafting Forwards with high end picks 3) No 2rd or 3rd round pick making any impact 4) TERRIBLE GOALTENDING I'll add a 5th - besides the Hall year, their timing for the #1 pick has been terrible. if you are going to tank - do it in a year when McDavid, Eichel, Stamkos, etc are available

  16. the easy answer is no and its really not that close. you added one 2015 1st rounder but there are 3 of those in total and this is an extremely deep crop of prospects - picks 20-30 in 2015 may have been top 15 and maybe even top 10 in 2014.
  17. nobody worth mentioning - though i think Karabacek did score a goal last week.
  18. Barzal, Mathew out till new year with Cracked Knee Cap.
  19. Good Week for Sabres Prospects - Reinhart named WHL player of the week. 1G 6A in 2 games.
  20. im probably not going out on a limb here to say that out of all the prospects who have never played a professional game they are the 2 most important pieces the Sabres have.

  25. Is there any way they dont put Bailey on the World Junior team? Good competition at the RW position from Tuch and Fashing who are big boys in their own right but you can't deny the size/speed and goal scoring ability of Bailey.
