I think we have to remember players can sign anywhere we want. Yesterday was a huge step forward but Dahlin is still only 18 and I don't think that alone will attract free agents. Unless, the player has another reason to come to Buffalo, they are still a last place club. My odds of signing a guy like Tavares went from 1% chance pre lottery to 10% post. still extremely unlikely he will want to play here. Same with the defencemen. Also Karlsson is going to cost a ton, didn't we all just complain about Murray giving away the farm for Kane and ROR?

I heard the guy on GR call Svechnikov a playmaker as well. Not sure where this view has originated from. He will be taken at #2 by whichever team is lucky enough to get him

Hughes will play on the World Championships for the USA. It will be great to see how he matches up against top competition.

I think the guys after 2 are all over the place because each of them are expected to be excellent prospects. Zadina, Tkachuk, Wahlstrom, Boqvist, Hughes, Dobson and Bouchard. But yes, getting into the top 2 would be sweet! I don't think the odds of 3 or 4 not hitting are much lower than 50/50. This is a strong draft right through 8 or 9. I will admit, I'm doing backflips if they win this thing.

I don't think he was doing too much to deserve extra ice time. 1G 1A in 7 games is not good enough. Could you imagine the rage Eichel would be taking from fans if he performed at that level during the Playoffs?

I;ll still be a little disappointed, Cause getting Dahlin would not only help the on-ice product but would change the mind set we all have that nothing goes our way. I'l get over it quick because the guy at 4 will become a corner-stone of the team.

probably you are right, he will still have lots of value next summer. Maybe even more, if he has another decent year and doesn't pout too much.

In a year, if/when Mittelstadt is ready for 2nd line minutes and Asplund looks like ROR version 2.0, then lets talk. If the Sabres are sellers at the Trade deadline, maybe then but not before.

theoretically it should only happen once in a hundred years, so Im ok that they have a shot. I think that if you put every spot up for lottery, you take away almost all motivation to tank. If you keep the bottom team with the current odds, it would be very unlikely they ever fall of out bottom 5.

I agree, though i would go further and say all 15 spots should be up for grabs.
