  1. Blysma was saying that he A. Doesn't want to have guys play 3 pre-season games in a row and B. Have the final preseason game tomorrow vs. Columbus reflect the opening night roster so what we have today are the scraps. I think the exceptions for 3 in a row will be Risto since he missed most of camp and hopefully Reinhardt (because I want to see him playing with the "real" line-up)
  2. per wgr550: Here are tonight’s lines: Foligno Girgensons Kaleta McGinn Larsson Reinhart Rodrigues, C.O’Reilly Akeson Carrier Schaller Ellis The defense is Pysyk, Ruhwedel, McCabe, Ristolainen, Leduc and Donovan. How many shifts does Kaleta get before he injures himself or gets thrown out of the game for being to amped up? This should be the last preseason game where we see "scrubs" playing and I'm not actually upset that this one won't have a stream. Here's the Wild's lineup from their website. It'll be interesting to see the Sabres "top" pairing of Foligno - Girgensons - Kaleta line up against he likes of Parise/Pominville/Vanek/Koivu/Granlund/Niederreiter.... I think the Sabres lose this game but I'd like to "see" a strong performance from our D. Niklas Backstrom Darcy Kuemper Devan Dubnyk Charlie Coyle Mike Reilly Christian Folin Marco Scandella Mikko Koivu Jordan Schroeder Zach Parise Jason Zucker Ryan Carter Zac Dalpe Ryan Suter Nino Niederreiter Matt Dumba Jonas Brodin Thomas Vanek Tyson Strachan Jason Pominville Nate Prosser Jared Spurgeon Tyler Graovac Brett Bulmer Erik Haula Mikael Granlund
  3. Unfortunately I don't think there will be a stream tonight, similar to the first preseason game against minnesota.
  4. Came here to say Ennis.
  5. Here's a fun fact. Last season the Islanders led the league with 10 short handed goals. The Sabres have 5 in 5 preseason games so far. Let's hope we keep this train rolling.
  6. Whooo! Liking that we can start building up some trust for lehner and also his own confidence. When's the last time Sabres had a shutout?
  7. Great PK work by Legwand right there.
  8. Fours days ago as well.
  9. Ugly power play by the Sabres.
  10. GOAL! E-ROD gets another? Good play by Sam to set it up!
  11. Early in the first period before any goals they said "The Sabres have already scored two short handed goals this pre-season and Eichel has one of them." It's like they don't prepare for these games at all or rather just discount the other team entirely. Before the game started they were talking about Babcock saying "You might expect him to get some boos but it's all Toronto fans at these games."
  12. Ouch. Hope ennis is ok. He just took a slapper from Phaneuf right in the tongue of his skates. Not too much padding there and he's gone to the locker room. Here's to hoping it's just a bruise. Sabres down Ennis & Guhle because of Phaneuf. Someone please take a run at him.
  13. Eh, deep down they know. They're not on air to tell the truth but to promote of product. That being said, I can't stand watching/listening to these guys. I can't wait to be watching a homer broadcast. Nothing quite like home team broadcasting confirmation bias.
  14. It wasn't dirty but it was definitely on the line. Similar situation to the Akeson hit a few games ago.
  15. Rodriguez pick up his own rebound from a bad angle shot and then wrapped it around the other side of the net for a goal. Gionta won a puck battle behind the net, passed it back to the D at the blue line who took a shot that Molson got a piece of somewhere in the slot.
  16. Phaneuf just laid out Guhle with a high hit and didn't have the balls to face Deslauriers. What a ponce.
  17. Not sure if this is against the rules but if anyone is interested in finding a stream they should look on the nhlstreams subreddit on reddit. edit: saying this only because this game is getting ugly (for toronto fans) and nobody should have to miss the Sabres manhandling them.
  18. Lehner got real lucky on that miffed 2-1. He was clearly beat but the Laugh just missed the net hard. It was a pretty great save by Bernier. Always fun to see a goalie stack the pads like that.
  19. Eichel looked so effortless on that goal, his stride is incredible. Compare it to whoever was chasing him down, dudes legs were churning and he still couldn't catch him.
  20. I can't wipe this stupid grin off my face right now. Are you serious Jack Eichel?
  21. ^ What this guy said. I see a lot of people complaining about how none of these songs are "good". We're looking for a 15 second sound byte, the songs don't have to be "good" and you're never going to have a major sports organization to select a song that everybody thinks is "good". They'll pick something that will appeal to the masses which means it'll be watered down and catchy. In this case, if we can actually put up some goals and get our fans accustomed to the song it'll be great to hear a full areana chanting "hoo rah, hoo rah, hoo rah yeah!". Big goals, blow-outs, it'll be fun to hear. And after a few beers you better believe that 10,000 men will join in on that. Also, things could be a lot worse, check out the Islanders new goal horn: https://twitter.com/barclayscenter/status/648669476335013888
  22. I heard on hockey hotline that Larsson is actually not playing today. Per Mike Harrington the forwards will look like this: The lines will thus look like this: Kane-RO'Reilly-Ennis Moulson-Eichel-Gionta Rodrigues-Cal O'Reilly-Reinhart Foligno-Legwand-Deslauriers Was hoping to see Larsson & Reinhart jam together but that will have to wait for another day. http://sabres.buffalonews.com/2015/09/29/sabres-two-lines-get-first-chance-to-play-together-tonight-against-leafs/
  23. With the injuries piling up I think Guhle will get a few NHL games with our 3rd pairing. Just how many games he plays will depend on how he handles himself, we won't really know until we see him in action when it really matters. Yes, Crosby/Kessel types will burn this kid everyday, I trust our coaches to not have them out there against the elite talent of our opponents. 9 games take us up to October 27th so without any further setbacks the injuries should be healed up by then and he can be returned to juniors. My hypothesis is that he'll see 3-5 NHL games before McCabe/Ruhweedal(sp?)/Bogo/and Gorges are back. Murray is going to tell him the same thing he told Sam Reinhardt, "you've seen which parts of your game needs improvement, go work on them and I'll see you next year." I'm liking what I've seen from him so far but I will eat a hat* if he sticks around longer than 9 games. *sandwich.
  24. You know, this guy:
