  1. Mrtka is fine, he's just not anything that blows me away. He's your typical 3/4 defender and I think I can get something similar later in the draft. I'm probably to low on him but that's okay. I don't believe in Frondell. His shot yes but I don't understand how he's going to create in the NHL because he doesn't carry much and his size advantage is gone. So he'll be a trigger guy with decent 200ft game.
  2. I'd put mrtka at 17 or 18. I almost put him in Henslers spot.
  3. I've watched way too much Carbonneau. He's fascinating to me. 6'1" and almost 200lbs with an 06 birthday so he's physically mature for the class. Usually this might mean less runway but I'm mildly convinced Carbonneau has more runaway. There's moments where he's just dominant, he'll handle, fake, slide an inane pass a teammate and crash the net. His shot is underrated and he can fire it from every angle, position, and way he wants. The talent he possesses is extraordinary. The catch is, he's too good for the Q and that means he does dumb *****. He'll try and deke 3 guys, skate into trouble, and lose pucks. I've seen him make incredibly bad decisions not because he can't see the ice, but because he's trying to be extra awesome. That's not to say he's some selfish primadona, he's very able of a team game, just on his team everything flows through him. Overall, I love him a bit. He looks like a hockey player, he's got high end tools and just needs some more play selection refinement. Another year in the Q and 2 in the AHL and I think you could have a 35g 45a player who can takeover shifts. He's willing to back and forecheck, just needs to work on some positioning defensively. Carbonneau is medium risk for high reward. If he doesn't hit, you're probably getting a 15-20g and 15-20a middle six winger who will be really good on your pp. Edit: Oh and for anyone worried Carbonneau is just a finesse guy... lolz. Dude might not be Martin but he's willing and wanting to hit things.
  4. My preliminary ranking: 1. Schaefer 2. Misa 3. Hagens 4. Martone 5. Desnoyers 6. Roger McQueen *injury notwithstanding 7. Carter Bear 8. Victor Eklund 9. Justin Carbonneau 10. Jackson Smith 11. Brady Martin 12. Kashawn Aitcheson 13. Jake O'Brien 14. Benjamin Kindel 15. Lynden Lakovic 16. Logan Hensler
  5. I think Edmonton wins in 6.
  6. Yea... I think Bear might be my 8th ranked player.
  7. They rarely are though. We didn't hear any McLeod news until it happened. There were Cozens rumors but I feel like it was 24hrs before when it sounded like names were out there in terms of Norris and Cozens.
  8. Elite Prospects draft guide!!!!!
  9. JJ Peterka just put up his 2nd 27g season and had 68pts as a 23yr old. I think teams thinking they can sign that long term for 7ish would be excited.
  10. Elite Prospects has released the best draft guide. Worth all 1,000 pages.
  11. If I have the choice between pushing all in on Robertson or Pettersson... I'm going Robertson.
  12. There's something funny about Pegula forcing Adams to tell him every little thing they want to do while also simultaneously being totally absent from the franchise and diverting all his money and attention to the NFL team. The Sabres are like a neglected child and Adams is their overworked teacher who just graduated from the University of Phoenix. Terry only cares to be a dad when he can exert power/control which is what all of it comes back to. This board is collectively smarter than the Sabres. Jfc.
  13. I have no interest in Pettersson. Especially for that package. I don't think jjp and 9 for a or prospect, a good defender and 4 is an overpay. Not at all, especially in the draft.
  14. I'm trading him for Jason Robertson.
  15. 4th overall... let's call that player James Martone... is 1-2yrs way from nhl action and probably 4 years away from where Peterka currently sits. That doesn't help us win hockey games this season.
  16. Nah, I'll worry about that later. Make the trade and if he won't sign you're moving an RFA in a year. Be bold now though and get this team winning.
  17. Dallas needs to shed cap. I'd be working this trade all combine week. This is one of the best wingers in the league and would improve the entire team.
  18. This team needs more prospects like that. Forechecking is a skill and those guys win championships. Bear has less manipulation than Benson but a better shot.
  19. Worth the listen/watch about 25 min in the get to the article
  20. Has us take O'Brien. He's a 6'2" center known for his playmaking who took off the 2nd half of the year. He doesn't play heavy though which would be my only question but he can, as in if to watch enough there's a bit if underlying jam. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6393069/2025/06/03/nhl-mock-draft-2025-pronman/
  21. Probably because this thread is about a 100pt winger and not a rhd. You can do more than 1 thing and Buffalo will have to. You trade for Robertson based on a Peterka trade and you trade for a rhd with something else.
  22. Martin Necas may be available as well. Colorado wants to sign him but with only 1yr left on his deal, he might be trying to get to UFA.
  23. There's no reason to do that imo. Benson becomes your 2nd lw. It's nice an easy.
