  1. Then he would lead in a fancy stat. I don't think saying I want a guy that is so good and physical defensive that he won't lead in fancy stats, because that makes no sense. If he is so physical that he continuously separates players from the puck with that skill and gets the puck out of his zone, shots against and especially dangerous shots against would be way down with him on the ice. What I am saying is "possession" is a measurable fancy stat for a defender that we would see. At the J20 level Eliasson has bad stats, like really bad. Now he is ridiculously young for his class, being a whopping 6 days away from the 2025 class. At his height and being so young, it shouldn't be a surprise that he has some issues. Would I draft him in the say the 4th when Buffalo has 2 picks (which I found out by quickly looking at Capfriendly), sure why not. He is going to college next year so you get at least 3 years to let him develop on NA ice which is great and maybe, just maybe you get yourself a 3rd pair defender.
  2. Ullmark wasn't traded, he left in UFA.
  3. ... maybe I should go to sleep
  4. I think Florida comes back and the Cup is awarded tonight. Idk why, just feel that.
  5. I'm with you in that I won't believe Adams has changed until he does.
  6. Nygard btw was in the top 4 for well rounded, most physical, highest motor.
  7. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5554222/2024/06/15/2024-nhl-draft-class-superlatives?source=user-shared-article 2024 class superlatives, Helenius and Nygard on a few of these. Both might be there at 11.
  8. pronman is high in catton?!?
  9. If that were to happen than KA did real good and deserves lots of praise for his patience and development plan.
  10. What if Benson comes to training camp and can skate like McDavid and grew 2"? I understand your point. I'm trying to be realistic.
  11. Okay. Joel Ek and Sam Bennett.
  12. I agree. I would have added him but decided only signed players and RFAs for this.
  13. That just isn't going to happen. He'd never get enough pp time even if they put him on the roster. You add Kulich next year, you're looking at 12-15g if you give him pp time and maybe 12 assists. The Sabres should be able to sign a better middle 6 player. Perhaps I'm realistic about what a 20yr old late 1st round pick producing .7ppg in the AHL with no chance in hell at a top 6 role is capable of as a rookie in the NHL. Savoie, he could surprise but that's if he beats out Krebs for a 3rd line spot. Still, we're talking 30ish points.
  14. Then he failed. He didn't bring in good enough talent.
  15. I just don't think Solberg is any better than a guy like Badkina.
  16. This kinda proves my point. You can take Badinka at 45 or Solberg at 15, might as well do Badinka.
  17. I disagree, I think if all he was is a 6'2" physical defender he would be a top 25 consensus pick because we see that archetype in most drafts. Our pipeline has plenty of physical defenders, many of whom were found outside the first round. Novikov, Kovarov, Strbak, McCarthy. Personally I don't see anything in his profile that separates him from strbak. You can find similar players to Stolberg in round 2 at 43.
  18. That's my point. If Adams fails to bring in enough talent and Savoie and Kulich make the team, then Adams failed.
