  1. Officially out of the basement through 23 games. This is not the worst team ever. Hooray!!
  2. Just stopped in to say we're going to be seeing that Ennis goal for the rest of our lives. That is permanent highlight reel stuff right there.
  3. So we had another child after Ollie, and he's a tippy. I always laugh when he starts doing something at a typically appropriate age, because I usually forget that kids do things like follow verbal commands, say the names of people in the room, play appropriately with toys, etc. I can't say I "hate" tippies, but i am constantly dumbfounded by them :)
  4. Outside of the potential impact on our draft status, I love that the Sabres and Oilers have identical records. Premeditation, of course, being the difference between First and Second Degree Murder.
  5. Happy Thanksgiving. This year, I am thankful for all the Professionals who dedicate their careers to Childhood Early Intervention. Last Thanksgiving was the final straw that pushed us to get Ollie tested for ASD. The entire day was a disaster and he was very clearly confused and afraid and hurting. One year later, thanks to all the wonderful people who have help give both him and his parents the tools to deal with this crazy ass disorder, he was able to attend the family dinner, sit at the table, and take timeouts on his own to calm down when he felt overwhelmed. I know the results very wildly, but today, for us, I cannot help but be grateful. All the best to all of Sabrespace.
  6. Rasmus and Nikita give us hope. Without them, I think we're looking for defense and forwards. With them, I think we can, for now, look primarily for forwards, and pick defensemen in the late first/second and let them develop the traditional way. winning>hope>>despair at least on the blue line, we're not in despair mode.
  7. Hamilton. He was on fire. Balls and the Mess didn't look like they could make the lineup on rochester. No way they see Ice once Myers and Gorges are back. They are every bit as awful in person as I expected them to be. Zemgus didn't look as good on the line with 26 and 63. Not sure if he was trying to change his game to play with the talent, or if he's not well, but he didn't look like a Latvian today. Rasmus and Nikita are going to be very good defensemen for a very long time. Absolutely awesome in their own end today. Still some things to work on in the offensive side. I don't think our defensemen got more than 2-3 shots through the Jets forwards. Everything got blocked. It was surreal. I still had a great time with my brother.
  8. So you finished reading the Stanford Report! :P
  9. the pre-edit insult got me all excited for a weave tbPhD cage-match.
  10. The Stain of Losing to the Grumpy Guys is permanent. No matter how much success you achieve in this league, or life in general, you will always know what really happened. You will always feel the gnawing sense of utter failure.
  11. I feel like I'm missing something.
  12. I'll be there with my brother. If anyone else is going let me know. If they can make it to OT, they will officially be out of the cellar through 22 games. A win will make the 5-4-1 in the last 10.
  13. woah woah woah. Christmas is all about complaining: "I gotta travel for this stupid census and my wife is like 8 months pregnant with some other guys kid" "There wasn't any room at the Inn" "I have no gifts to bring" "What a stupid tree, Charlie Brown."
  14. No, not them. We had a wonderful experience recently with Parpas. And by wonderful, I mean soul-crushingly terrible.
  15. Which fine Italian equipment company will be screwing up your weekend?
  16. The laws ending Jim Crow were a political mistake for the democrats as well.
  17. The quote is massively out of context. Schumer was saying that it is a good policy, but only about 1/3rd of the uninsured are registered to vote. So they are paying the price for doing the right thing. It was a political mistake, not a policy mistake. He makes no mention of how it was passed.
  18. You've already been out of Boston too long: http://www.hockeyeastonline.com/men/media/nbcsn.php
  19. Except that just happened. In the first period tonight.
  20. Aren't they showing the Notre Dame Hockey Conference...er...I mean Hockey East?
  21. I agree that it is time for relegation of the bottom 2.
  22. Also from Officer Wilson's testimony: "He was enraged, like it was making him angry that I was shooting at him." I had to stop reading there. I think we could help these people become better parents, have more time with there children, less temptation to get involved in crime-for-money, more incentive to keep the kids in school. I think we can help bring some of the advantages I had growing up to more people, but throwing generation after generation in prison is counter productive.
  23. If your life is threatened, you are trained to shoot to kill. Dead people are the only people who don't shoot back.
  24. With the exception of the last name of one Minnesota Wild winger, you will never see me correcting anybody's spelling. In his testimony, he said he fired the first shot without looking. It's so simple.
