  1. “I was kind of pissed off that we were losing so we got a couple good goals there, but it wasn’t enough,” Ristolainen said. “Every time when I’m playing, it’s serious. I try to get the puck, I try to compete and I try to hit everything.”
  2. Everybody is overreacting in the literal sense of the word awesome. Not F'n Fantastic :-(
  3. There are plenty of assed-chaps. They're just called pants. All of you chaps-nazis can sit back down and wait until you're called on. zfg
  4. All accurate. Also, they are guaranteed due process by law, and that process is currently massively underfunded and slow. 3-4 years of "due process" in the US before possible deportation is a huge improvement over their lives in El Salvador, Honduras, etc. These nations have become a complete ###### Show because we've deported half of MS-13 to three nations that have barely functioning governments. WTF did we think was going to happen?
  5. Where will the Sabres Land? I think between 8-12
  6. Hooray for Weave!!
  7. Soylent Sabre Sundae is Chets and Muffies?
  8. Why would Mitchell staying make him less comfortable?
  9. The NPR story linked above mentions a woman with exactly that story.
  10. Agreed, this all comes down to the definition of greatness, which is hugely subjective (and always a good sports debate!). MJ also had Phil Jackson. Now there's some greatness.
  11. The separation between Greztky and Orr isn't that big, especially factoring in era, IMO. Some would argue, even, that Orr was better. I would argue that Hasek was better. The separation between Jordan and the next greatest (and that really is a subjective term in the eye of the beholder) is pretty big. No one scored and won like he did. And with essentially two completely different rosters other than Scotty. Gretzky never replicated his oiler success with a different roster.
  12. His Hall of Fame Enshrinement Speech was such an unnecessary middle finger to seemingly random people. That was the first time he ever lowered himself in my view of him. Still the greatest of all time, any sport, but I just think slightly less of him now than I did then.
  13. I think I'm where you are productivity wise, and I'd like his talent level to be on our borderline 2nd/3rd line, but that pay is very much in line with that production. So, he'll either fit in the cap and be value at his pay, or he doesn't fit in the cap (eventually we're going to have to make Chicago-like decisions and let go of good players) but his pay will be in line with his production and he'll be perfectly tradable.
  14. What do you project Ennis's point totals to be on average over the next 5 years. Best/worst/likely?
  15. But if he brings a title to Cleveland on a team he leads, all will be forgiven. No one will ever be Jordan. His compete bordered on, if not passed entirely into, psychopathic.
  16. Your training camp is called Canadian Citizenship.
  17. I think it indicates an intention to pacakage players for additional picks, or, pacakaging multiple prospects for individual nhl level talent.
  18. Capgeek counts 45 before Ennis and Ruhwedel. So 47 now?
  19. Sure, if you're the LA Kings, but where has that gotten them?
  20. The head of Hockey Operations son played for the most clutchy-grabby neanderthal team in the league. I really think it's that simple. The man sent very specific e-mails chastising a referee who worked for him about the calls made against his son. He has been PROVEN to interfere in favor of his son. His defense: "But no one told me...that you can take your emails and read them all." As long as he is in charge of how hockey is played, there will be no improvements.
  21. to be fair, the capitol is one of the most iconic structures in the capital.
  22. I think it's an okay was to judge relative strength, though. For instance, Risto is very obviously the top D-Man prospect right now. Girgensons is a man among boys. Grigorenko still had work to do.
  23. What? he inherited the defending division champs, with the reigning Selke Winner? Throw in Hasek and he inherited a great team.
  24. My prediction is that Makarov cements himself as the starter while Hackett is out with injury. Of Measter Lieuwen, Makarov, and him, I'm putting his career arc on the lowest trajectory. For clarity, I'm not saying he won't ever start a game, he'll have a regular backup role. He'll just never be the regular starting goalie. And Linus is waiting in the wings.
  25. I tried to tone my passion down, but this is pretty much where I stand. Because on top of all my buffalo sports ######, I gotta add Jeffery ###### Meyer.
