Armia plays nasty at times; nice to see. Let's Go Rochester! Time is running out. Hackett is pulled; last chance. Ouch, its over; Rochester lost. Let's Go Buffalo!
-
Armia, roughing? He had two guys on him.
-
Armia's rocket pass, to hard to handle.
-
Nice pass in front of the net. Let's Go Rochester!

2nd period. Ouch Tardiff, bad pass; 2-0 Penguins. Larsson still competing. Yes
-
Ouch 1-0 Penguins Risto doesn't seem to have the same enthusiasm as he did when he was playing with the big club.

What a breath of fresh air; Coach Nolans after practice interview was spectacular. One word came to my mind when listening to Coach Nolan, and that was "clarity". Clarity of vision and expectations. He also has a genuine commanding presence behind the podium; I just felt like he belonged there. Lastly, I was so glad that I didn't have to hear the word "process". I am excited about the future of the Sabres once again. Let's Go Buffalo!

One of my favorite rants ever.

New President of Hockey Operations, Presser @10:30 a.m.

Great interview; I'm glad we have Ted back, and the fact that he had a chance to turn the Islanders around should help him with the Sabres. Its good to have a coach with some emotion; the post game presser's should be much better. -

Good for Terry, he gave everyone enough rope to hang themselves, and now its time for change. Thank you Mr. Pegula for removing the elephants from the room. :D :clapping:  I'm glad they're going to take their time interviewing people for the GM's job. Let's Go Buffalo! -
Wow; this ought to be interesting.

Job Performance Poll: Head Coach Ron Rolston
hockeyhound replied to IKnowPhysics's topic in The Aud Club
What does this do to the young players? -
:o  :(  :w00t:     In some ways I'm glad for Thomas; however, on the other end, I know what it means to loose, but in the end I think it will be the best thing for him. Islanders look to be a strong up and coming team, and it doesn't hurt that Vanek will be playing along side John Travares. Good Luck Thomas and Family; you'll be missed.

Are there any takers out there that would be willing to answer this question? Step out of the super serious box for moment and go for it. I am sure if I offered a $100.00 to the person with the best answer then maybe some of you would loosen up a bit. :w00t:

Come on have fun with it; what would you do? Don't chicken out.
-
Giving up something to get something; sounds reasonable to me. LGR4GM or anyone, if you were the GM, assume Ovechkin was on the market for trade, and you were willing to go all in and nobody in your system was immune from trades or moves of any kind, who in the Sabres system would you trade, move, sacrifice, and don't forget cash is at your disposal in order secure Ovechkin in the Blue and Gold? (As the respondent, its assumed that you are going to do everything in your power to get Washington to part with Ovechkin; no holds barred.) :w00t:
-
Vanek-man, what would you do as GM to land a top player like Crosby, Ovechkin or someone comparable? I don't know; however, at some point Buffalo is going to have obtain a top tier forward that can make a difference. At the rate Buffalo is going, we won't see a cup in the next 10 years. Would that be all a part of the suffering plan? I would agree if Buffalo is going to be a contender for the cup then they are going to need a few high caliber players. The Gerbe's won't cut it and the list goes on and on. Not a bad idea; how practical is a trade like this?
-
Just talking out the side of my neck. I would just like to see Buffalo land a Crosby, Ovechkin, etc Give us the Soma Darcy to ease our suffering.
-
I am looking forward to seeing if John Scott comes into camp looking like he did in Minnesota; maybe looking a little more like Bryan Bickell. Seeing the picture of Ovechkin in the Sabres jacket was worth starting the thread. I love it. We could use a little more Soma to ease the pain. Lots of people want Darcy to get aggressive and make a block buster trade that would redefine the franchise; however, how much money, assets, picks, or prospects would people be willing to part with to land a big fish. We haven't had any real superstars since the French Connection; for years we have had to watch as the Sabres put 2nd line forwards on the first line with the exception of Vanek. I would have been happy with Bobby Ryan. Give up too much? It costs to experience Hockey Heaven.

Fantastic picture, where did you find it? There it is, Ovechkin in the Blue and Gold; he looks good in it. :w00t: I wonder if the Sabres store would run a line of those jackets; looks tight. Does the knife come with it? I don't know, but I would love to see it happen. Let's Go Buffalo! Darcy would become a hockey god if he pulled off a deal like that. :worthy:

How long do they ride the one trick pony? It would be very disappointing if Ovechkin goes out with nothing playing for the Caps. I know Ovechkin has not won a cup and he is not Gretzky; however, roughly 24 years ago Gretzky was traded to LA Kings for what appeared to be for the good of the league. How about the Lindros trade which shook up the hockey world? I thought it was interesting how the Lindros camp resisted the status quo when it came down to where Lindros was going to play. I wonder if his dad had anything to do with it. I guess every once in awhile the unexpected presents itself, and it would sure be nice to see Ovechkin playing for the Buf. Thanks to everyone that elaborated on the difficulties surrounding Ovechkins' contractual future and career.

I really appreciate your candor. My thought was that a team might want to deal an MVP if they thought as you did, that it may not be the right formula for them to win a cup. I don't know; however, I appreciate your response.
-
Thank you for the insight, and I am not being facetious when I say that. I have an interest in hockey related discussions; however, I am not involved in the hockey world. So for a layman like me, I have to ask questions when it comes down to the day to day hockey operations issues. I thought this was a sight where one could do that; so excuse me for my hasty reply to your earlier one sentence response; I regret that I responded in that way. I just wanted to know why it was possible or impossible. I apologize; have a great week.

Try not to take yourself so seriously and have fun with it. Do you think Ovechkin will play his whole career in Washington? Since you obviously have so many great ideas, why don't you expound upon them, and explain to such a lowly person as myself why it is so absurd to think that Ovechkin could play for some other team other than the Capitals.
-
Is it possible for Ovechkin to be traded? Could the Capitals be looking to try a new approach? Could the Capitals get a two for one deal; Miller and Vanek for Ovechkin. Ovechkin approximately 10,000,000.00 a year Vanek approximately 8,000,000.00 a year Miller approximately 6,000,000.00 + a year I believe at one time Ovechkin said that the Buffalo Sabres was his favorite team growing up. How many would like to see OV in a Sabres Uniform?
