I was just having this conversation the other day after they looked Schitt's Creek after the ASG. It is a long season, this isn't the NFL, the playoffs are a sum of 82 games, not a "what-if" once per week like the Bills. As long as the Sabres can play .600 hockey it will be OK. The way we play clunkers, especially at home, drives me nuts.

I think part of it is that most other teams white jerseys have a full color shoulder and/or sleeves not just an insignia. This one has the blue basically under the armpit then nothing until the wrist/cuff. On TV the entire jersey gets washed out on the ice in part because of it. I like the jersey otherwise, like on its own/on a hanger. Just the pants plus how it presents on TV from above aren't great.

I think black is here to stay though, right?

Blue pants yes. But also blue shoulders. Every other while jersey in the league has colored shoulders. The view on TV from above the ice just washes out. The “B’s” aren’t enough.

I was cool with the pregame. The in game feels so sterile.

God I hate this TNT broadcast.

So many elite sports are this way. Even the Olympics. If you have to fight to get out of heats, quarters, semis, etc to make a Grand Final, you won’t have enough left in the tank to get a medal. To win the Olympics you have to be able to “cruise” through a bit of the event. When 85% are are fighting for their life; you have to save a gear because there are only so many times in a year you can go deep into the well. Then you rave the 15% of the field that made the final at 110%.

The 8 game skid is a real killer just because it’s so long and so irregular. The couple games here and there happen over a long season. Ultimately it feels like the Sabres are in as much control as any WC team could hope for. If we just keep playing Buffalo Sabres hockey they’ll be fine. They are more or less log jammed into the 8th seed right now. All they have to do is win hockey games right now, they don’t need much else. Let’s go!

The Sabres have been the more entertaining/less frustrating franchise for 2 months or so. People have been texting me for weeks complaining about football and I have been responding with all things hockey. Feels good to be all in on hockey again.

With the way the team is playing 21-14 seems totally reasonable. Hoping we can take this mini-bye to get Cozens and Mule going then take it to Carolina before the break.

Watkins is bonkers. He’s a flat-earther and thinks that lizard people run the government.

I get it, we all want a goalie who can carry the team if need be. But this game is just terrible one rip on UPL. The guy played lights out.

I don’t know man. There were minutes of this game where I was shocked we didn’t give up a goal. One easy goal where UPL got caught out of position. But the guy had a great overall game. A fluky shoot out goal prevented us from getting a final go.

Tage is like a church bell choir. I don’t know if there’s another player I’ve ever seen ring them off the post/crossbar so often.

Same. I haven’t missed a game in a month or more now. I’ve been frustrated with the Bills for 2-3 months, they made the game look so hard. The Sabres have been the more entertaining franchise for a while now. I left Buffalo circa 2019 and live in the capital region now. We fly a Bills flag all year and so does my neighbor 4 doors down. On the same day we took down our Bills flags and put up the same exact Sabres flag. Neither of us have flown a Sabres flag in 3-4 years.

Marty legit saying that stat is wrong. He has Krebs with 2-3 alone and he’s credited with zero.
