He actually was rather good in the playoffs this past year. Plus its one year for a depth forward with a ton of experience; it's better than paying some random player 5x6mil for the same role and output

Marchessault actually out hit him in the regular season. Mantha again isn't very interesting barring a cheap 1 year show me contract. 55 hits total and heavy Ozone starts

Um, I’m unsure if you mean no NMCs or with NMCs somehow. Also the vast majority of Top 6 players have NMCs or NTCs. We need a solid Top 6 winger that isn’t a complete liability in his own end or else buying out Skinner was meaningless. And if teams won’t give you anyone barring extreme overpayment you can’t exactly do that without likely destroying the little hope that hangs around with the prospect pool being able to help bail us out. Don’t feel bad for him personally unless he is truly in a no win situation but more for us fans who deserve better

To be frank I’m concerned for the franchise’s future at this point. No one will waive or sign here of note. Even when we state that we are trying to win nowadays. Before people say you need to win; well it’s hard to if no one wants to come here unless they are drafted by us to begin with. It would effectively mean we will never escape the basement because we’ll never get the support to get into the playoffs and have to forever rely on rookies only for players to leave upon reaching their maturity.

We have no idea who he’s making offers for and whether or not they are legitimately bad offers or other teams aren’t interested in trading with us in good faith. Disappointing yes, but I can’t without further knowledge proclaim he’s an utter failure when we have no clue whatsoever about the actuality behind the scenes. If he offered 14, a 3rd and Kulich for Ehlers (w/ extension) and Iafallo and WPG agreed but Ehlers wouldn’t sign how is that on Adams? If he offered Ehlers 8x7.5mil and Ehlers said no; well there’s no point in dealing for him if the assurance of 60mil over 8 years wasn’t apparently enough for guy who should get around 6/6.5mil based on production. That would tell me that barring a miracle he has no intentions to sign here and thus isn’t worth a top prospect and a 1st. Perhaps Ehlers said yes but WPG wanted more, and not in the 3rd to 2nd category but we want 14, Savoie, Rosen and a 2nd. Again that isn’t a tenable option as your trading what equates to 3 1sts and a 2nd for a 60 pt winger who’ll be overpaid long term and a local 3W also being overpaid this year but is then a UFA. Not exactly a good faith trade when you ask for the moon but only offer a return of a Mazda. He could be inept in making player purchasing trades, that isn’t out of the question either. But he did well with selling player trades which would hint at least some degree of competence. In both Greenway and Malenstyne’s acquisitions you get the sense he offered a 3rd and gave a 2nd in order to seal the deal. We know that specifically in the Greenway trade.

My guess he signs for 1/2x 1.2mil upon Free Agency.
