In a good way or a bad way? Drouin doesn't fit GMTM's model thus why I won't give much more than my previous proposal. Anyone know Drouin's character?
-
Nope, draft is in Buffalo this year. Plus the chance for Matthews is still possible.
-
I would accepted a loss to the Cowboys, but beating the Jets was well worth the pick drop.
-
Very true, but I'd guess most teams will low ball them for starters.
-
I wonder if Larsson and a 2nd & a 3rd would work? Seeing as they are dealing from a untenable position.
-
I'd send Tampa Baptiste and our 2nd for 2016 and 2017 for Drouin If they want Larsson & Baptiste instead I might do that.

I think McNabb is a good D-man, but more 3-4 than 1-2. The fact he plays with Doughty makes him a quality 1-2 since he can focus on his game versus the whole ice. If Doughty was injured I'd guess he'd look rather overwhelmed until Muzzin was moved up. Then they'd be defensively sound but far less deadly offensively. That being said I'd take him in a heartbeat.

That's what I was inferring, with O'Reilly here long term I could see him being very interested in getting the opportunity to play in the playoffs, improve the Sabres, then return in the offseason. I doubt he'd get much in a contract with his injury history coupled with his stats never being awesome like those of Moulson's past. -
I get the sense that like last year the top pick is going to have his home team and Buffalo high on his list. So McDavid's Toronto and Buffalo will be Arizona and Buffalo for Matthews. He may also be happy with Philly due to the Briere connection. Juolevi-Risto a Finnish defensive pair or one of those wingers for Eichel, that's a hard choice.

Have they been amateurish as sports owners yes, but few new owners aren't. Golisano and Larry Quinn were just as problematic thanks to their communications structure failing miserably when it came to the Briere/Drury resigning. Not to mention he bought the team off bankruptcy, but which had the makings of most of the roster we used in 05-06 already. He left his confidence in Darcy and Ruff and it almost did work, but when it was crunch time 07, they dropped the ball. When he sold the team to the Pegulas, the Sabres were a middling to which they hoped funneling money into a couple players might put them over the edge. Did they keep Regier and Ruff to long, maybe, did they sign the wrong guys, Leino definitely, Ehrhoff potentially over estimated his spot. But had that worked, would you be all pissy about the owners, I doubt it. Had Leino actually played well, and Myers not tailspin after his rookie season there is no reason we couldn't of done well. Teams screw up signings all the time, so they batted 000 in their first two but what owners haven't. The fact they honestly love the teams is not a bad thing, they're willing to pay the money to play, we don't have to worry about internal caps, and they throw it around in hopes to make Buffalo a destination for players. Not to mention it may have taken a few years and a few failures but GMTM is here now and the Sabres seem to be heading in the right direction. They've just adopted the Bills, who were already a perennial loser prior to him taking over, Rex may not of had much success but who was out there that was a sure thing to make the playoffs? Rex's personality some people the wrong way, but to crucify the Pegulas for hiring a well respected coach, granted a loud-mouth, wasn't something they had written up prior. Polian decided not to advise the Bills, Marrone took his ball and left in the cover of night, and they had owned the team 4 months. Football geniuses don't grow on trees, you can't go to college for Super Bowl 101 nor can you make a QB appear out of thin air. You can hate their moves or style of ownership, but that doesn't necessarily mean they had unlimited options. You seem to come across knowing they turned away multiple football experts, and Vince Lombardi's clone and decided to do what they wanted.

Hamburg O D, over polluting airwaves over Western NY The Bro's of Mercy need to show mercy and not use their jingle 5 times an ad.

Is Canada using the Sabres' goal horn? They used our song on the 3rd goal against Denmark just a litle while ago

Zach Werenski I wish he had been a later pick because he looks like a high end D prospect and would look nice next to Risto. Any other ideas for a left handed D-man who could be Risto's partner in crime?

I get the sense based on ROR's play and how Gionta sounded in the Beyond Blue and Gold thing that he might bestow the C to O'Reilly over the offseason and merely enjoy his last season as merely a vet/leader in locker room and let the younger generation run with it.

Nobody put this up yet?

TBN piece on sagging attendance, enthusiasm in arena

I miss the corny buffaloes charging the stadium video they'd start the game with, I miss the old music (I rarely hear "We will rock you") with the jumbotron actively engaging with the crowd. -
Merry Christmas everyone!

What is your problem with Doug Allen and the Pegulas in general? Would you rather the Sabres be in Hamilton? I'll deal with their inexperience if it means they'll spend oodles of money on the team and the Harborcenter. I'd also add that the culture of the region has changed as well, far more white collar fans attend the games now than in the past while the cell phones keep many of the younger generation glued to them rather than watching the actual game.
