Here's a plan to effectively rearrange some deck chairs hoping we find an inflatable raft under one of the new chairs ? The values are mostly based on an assortment of non-Sabre fan comments so Scandella for a 2020 2nd and Sobotka for a 3rd and 5th wasn't my idea entirely. https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1024012

I disagree in this being anything good. It will kill markets like Buffalo more than any of the larger market teams. The NBA is everything I hate in sports. 1. No defense or actual strategy until the final 3 min when it’s close 2. Super teams and complete refuse teams which horde many good players until they aren’t quite as useful 3. No team loyalty. I’m not saying take a pay cut to stay, Im saying don’t flee at RFA conclusion and screw your fans for your own selfish desires. You will make multi millions regardless. Pay your dues and once your 30 or so, then go championship chasing if you weren’t lucky. 4. Overly political 5. Far to much “me over the team mentality” 6. Personality is too far overboard to the point of dividing fans over their player’s beliefs and Twitter exploits. 7. Seems to aim to please the lowest common denominator by making everything dramatic and earth shattering (I love trades but I cannot stand the sheer continuous churning of players) (everything needs to be fast, in your face, without one iota of thought) I didn’t mind the Spurs as much since they had a strategy, and executed as a team. Baseball is too slow but I love the strategy and test of skill Football is a slide show but it’s slides are fun Hockey is faster and has some strategies but still has defense Basketball is fun to play, but watching it bores me at the NBA level due to it tending to be solely a skills competition and nothing more. It’s the NHL shootout for 2 hours barring a small clump of time outs near the end of the game. I do enjoy game endings to a degree due to that. In the end I want skill to be important but not the sole reason behind every game’s result.

I’d due Benn for Okposo and SJSs 1st plus maybe a lesser prospect but that’s as far as I’d go Dallas would need to retain some, he’s under contract until he’s 36/37

My two proposed trades: Toffoli and a conditional 4th (4th becomes a 3rd if Beaulieu resigns with LAK or he puts up 15 pts in the remaining games) for Beaulieu and SJS's 1st Coyle 2019 MIN's 3rd for Nylander 2020 BUF's 2nd 2019 SJS's 4th With those two trades, and based on today's changes to some degree Skinner - Eichel - Okposo Toffoli - Coyle - Reinhart ERod - Mitts - Sheary Larsson - Girgs - Thompson I would say its a cup winner but it should at very least put us in the playoffs and neither player is a rental.

What this tells me is the Florida GM may look to extort the Canucks out of assets to keep Lu from retiring this year. If he retires this season, both teams take a hit but a manageable one. Otherwise Vancouver is ****ed
-
I’d disagree on Beaulieu’s value being shot. He’s worth a 4th. Toffoli is having a down year. my original offer would be SJSs 1st and Beaulieu for Toffoli and their 4th/3rd based on Beaulieu’s games performance
-
I’d go after Toffoli with Beaulieu and the 2020 2nd and SJSs 4th this year Not a rental and would give us further depth on the wing. the biggest problem is the lack of non rental Cs on the market

To be honest I am rather curious seeing as the Sabres play tomorrow and Rochester plays Wednesday yet no call ups have been made. -
GDT: Blackhawks @ Sabres 2/1/2019, 7PM EST

I'd be willing to deal with his slow decent into mediocrity just for the 3 rings of experience and his dirty play is just a bonus. Who better to mentor Dahlin than a Conn Smythe winner who was incredible in his prime. -
Cody Ceci is terrible so I'd never trade for that bum

I'm actually on board with this; I'm haddit with his no emotion

No different from his discussion points on the HFBoards. He has as much hatred for Botts as one guy there did for GMTM where it becomes annoying through repetitive statements. No GM is perfect, Botts has done well in my opinion. He’s made seemingly good & bad deals but has certainly at very least changed the team’s overall atmosphere.

Agree with you entirely here. Someone else on the PP needs to at minimum be either a solid passing threat or shooting threat from the side opposite Eichel. Right now, Eichel gets effectively trapped between endlessly trying cycle with Risto/Reinhart or trying to pick the corner. There is far too little movement on the PP and Reinhart needs to do more than merely stand beside the net and play catch with Eichel. Maybe occasionally pass around the boards and try to loosen the box or get them moving side to side. Presently the other team can practically sit 3 guys on one side to guard against Eichel, Reinhart, Risto, and whomever is in the high slot.

Picks can be traded as long as said pick's existence & it's conditions still include an asset. So we could trade SJS or St.L's 1st since it will either be a 1st this year or next year. We own the asset of a conditional 1st in 2019/2020. On the other hand, we cannot trade our 3rd since it is tied to a condition. It's a 4th or a 3rd which we owe. So Pittsburgh could trade the conditional pick but we can't.

Depends on who Not interested in even potentially helping teams in our division or nearby competition

Sobotka for Brassard

I worry Puljujarvi has been ruined by the Oilers or was never that great to begin with. After all, he was linemates with Laine and Aho for the WJC. He also isn’t the fleetest of foot but if the price is low enough I’d throw them lower end asset for his recovery process
