  1. Random - I don’t like how the Canucks Blue uniforms mesh with the red arena seats.
  2. I’m watching the game on some Canadian tv channel. I know it’s the home opener but this is a painfully long intro. I only recognized half a dozen Canuck’s players by name
  3. I have the Audacy app, will I be able to listen to this game on my phone With the app?
  4. Is there anyway for a person living in Sabres tv market to watch the games without a cable subcscription? Like some sort of streaming package ?
  5. I’ll be in town for thanksgiving and I know the sabres usually play the night before thanksgiving so I plan on making it to the game vs St. Louis. Now the advice I’m looking for - I plan on taking my wife, 5 and 3 year old. What is the best section to sit in for a family like mine? Im thinking more along the lines of the best site lines so they can catch all the action since they’re not so tall and I’m thinking other people could get in the way. I’ve already got them roller skating and they even watch hockey with me sometimes and seem to be intrigued by it. Any other tips and suggestions that will make the game day experience fun? Looking forward to the feedback. Thanks!
  6. I think I equally enjoy the booing of Bettman as I do the Stanley cup being hoisted. It’s a bummer the lightning fans didn’t get to boo him
  7. I remember when we just missed out on MacKinnon. I always knew he’d be a Stanley cup winner
  8. I’m just glad we don’t have to watch another Boston team. Win-Win
  9. I’ve never been to MSG but that place looks huge. Is there some type of mall in there ?
  10. As a young 8 year old hockey fan in 99 I liked the Dallas stars because they were cool and Mike Modano played for team USA. My parents had just gotten satellite tv so I watched all the hockey I wanted. I quickly discovered this channel called empire sports network and learned that I could watch Sabre’s games. Back then the team was very average and the league was kind of stale as every game would end in a low scoring 2-1 battle but I enjoyed watching it. I knew the Sabre’s of 2004 weren’t very good and still enjoyed playing nhl video games to pass the time. When the nhl locked out in 2005 I found myself very sad when football season was over. I didn’t realize how much I had actually missed hockey. When it came back I didn’t really watch much. I was just entering high school and kept busy with other things and football was my main passion so I didn’t pay attention all too much. When the Sabre’s made the playoffs in 2006, wow, I jumped on that bandwagon so hard. That’s when I really discovered Rick Jeanererette. As a 31 year old I look back at those years from 2005-2007 as the best years of my life. My youth. 15, 16, 17 years old. Rick’s voice echoes in my memories. I could say that he is a part of the fabric that made me who I am today. The first game I went to was February 22nd 2007. I wanted so bad to go to a game. Little did I know the game I went to would be the biggest brawl We’ve seen. Drury got hit probably 10 feet in front of me. When I’m feeling sad I go back and watch that game or listen to Rick Jeanerette goal calls and highlights. It brings me back to the happiest times of my life and reminds me of who I am. My son is now 3. He was also born on February 22nd. I can’t wait to raise him to love the Sabre’s. I can’t wait to show him what happened in 2007 on what happens to be his birthday and how I was there. Someday we will celebrate a Stanley cup together. However he will won’t experience it with Rick. For that I am sad. But I’m also grateful that I got to experience Rick and grow up hearing him and have the memories. When I listen to the Drury game tying goal or other memorable highlights it triggers feelings and memories that give me goosebumps and gives me a euphoric sensation every time. That’s equally as good as a Stanley cup
  11. I guess the nhl doesn’t mind losing ratings then
  12. So I pretty much have been wasting my money on ESPN+ all year. I’ve kept it for the playoffs. How many games am I realistically going to be able to watch? So dumb
  13. This seems like a random question to ask. How much do play by play announcers get paid? I hope he earned a good living over 50 years
  14. For me it’s this - My first ever game Chris Drury got cheapshotted 10 feet in front of me. A massive Buffalo-Ottawa Brawl ensued and goalies faught. It’s been a long disappointment since but I know they’ll come back Edit - on some hard drive hidden away somewhere I actually have a live video of it all unfolding, even the hit.
  15. Not to get off topic but their uniform and logo might be the worst in all of professional sports.
  16. I’m thinking the arena will be about 80% full. It’s not RJ night but I think that Friday night brought the fan base back
  17. I’m dying to see video taken from the stands pregame, during the game or post game
  18. For a while it felt like I was watching the fast paced high energy crowd enthused sabres of 2006. I even wish it was 2011 again. I’m going to be honest. The last 10 years have been tough coming February, march, April. I hope this sticks
  19. The last time the crowd was this into the game was game 4 vs Philadelphia in 2011 when miller robbed briere on a breakaway in the final seconds en route to a 1–0 win.
  20. My wife who has only watched 1 Sabre’s game in her entire life knows who Rick Jeanneret is
  21. I better see a full replay of this game. I subscribed to ESPN+ but it’s blacked out. I don’t have MSG, and Audacy app stoped airing the pregame at 7pm. So I’m in the dark
  22. Can someone send me a message on how to “watch” the game?
  23. I think this was asked but not sure. I have ESPN plus. I live in msg market. Will ESPN plus be blacked out?
