  1. Can the stat line on the NHL.com site be correct? We blocked 42 shots? Added to the 39 shots on goal and counting however directed shots went wide, did we possess the puck AT ALL tonight? How did we score 3 goals?

We need a coach that can teach and coach puck possession and a dominant centerman that can maintain it. Gee, if only I knew where we might get one of those.

    GO SABRES!!!

Listening to WGR this morning they said the attempts were 100 to 49, that's a lot of shot attempts by the Stars.

  2. Come on, man... you had it right with your earlier post in this thread, so why not let it go?  Don't confuse the fact that some of us aren't happy with losses means we don't see the endgame.  I'm not doing this again.

Exactly how I feel, I know it's beneficial for them to end up last, but I can not pull myself to root against them. I will always feel excited about a Sabres goal and curse a goal by the opposition.

  3. A former scout for the Bills said that he's hearing the Bills will not be making any organizational changes heading into the offseason.

Graham reported moments later that he's hearing there are no imminent changes. There will be meeting next week, but the "status quo" is expected.

I buy this, I don't expect Pegula to make any knee jerk reactions. It's a long off-season. I'd like Whaley to stay, as I did with Marrone at first, but now, I'd have no problem with Marrone being sent packing. Of course that's if they can find a suitable replacement, which doesn't include promoting Hackett (could you imagine).

  4. Nah, that's a blessing. NFL: The Bills might be able to beat the Pat's 2nd and 3rd string, we'll give them the last game so there's a chance NE will rest people.

Since 2010 at Pats 2/4, at Jets 1/4, host Jets 1/4. 2011 They were at Pats in week 16 before hosting the Jets in week 17.

    that's a more logical answer. :)

Don't count on Belichick resting people, it's something that he doesn't do. Just looking at the past 4 years, the Pats have had the division well wrapped up and Brady was still starting and finishing in week 17.

Doug Moron and Can't Hackett don't have the offensive brain power to beat teams. We have won games because our defense has been superior. What happens when they need the offense to chip? Run, Run, Pass that's what.

Run, run, pass ? I wish there was a little more run, run, pass, lately we've been seeing a lot more run, pass, pass, punt. I do agree we've won games because of great defensive play, but there have been plenty of plays left on the field because of inept QB play, not coaching.

  5. Smart move putting Hodgson out there.

I have to admit, that's not the first thought that crossed my mind when I saw Hodgson. In hindsight it was a good move, hopefully it'll give Cody a little confidence. Ennis 2 of 4 on SO's with 2 pipes hit.

The Gus line is starting to look dangerous, they're becoming fun to watch in the offensive zone.

  6. 11 and Hank -- did you see Rodgers the other day vs the Pats? He can throw it anywhere he wants. He's the best passer since Marino.

I don't see how the Bills could possibly beat the Packers unless Rodgers is hurt.

I would be shocked if the Bills beat Denver or GB (again, barring injury to the QBs). Not quite shocked if they beat the Pats, but pretty close if the game is meaningful for the Pats.

I think the best chance they'll have of winning against the three will be against the Pats. The past few games have been closely contested until later in the 2nd half. Plus the Bills are pretty familiar with Brady. The Pats might have the division wrapped up by week 17, but Belichick rarely gives players off, no matter what the standings are.

Crazy stat I heard this morning, Manning is 126-4 against teams that average 21 points or less a game, that's unreal.

  7. I agree about Whaley, but he did say on WGR the other morning that Sammy has been the difference maker in the three of their victories. The interesting point about this statement is without Sammy they may have three more losses, but they would have their 1st next year and be in position to select their QB of the future.

I don't know about 3 games, but for sure if Watkins doesn't make plays on balls thrown well behind him at the end of the Detroit and Minnesota games, the Bills would be at 3 and 7 right now. Watkins is a difference maker and if the Bills had to spend an extra 1st rounder (I'm guessing around the 15th pick) to get a player that can make difference for years to come, I'm fine with it.

  8. Best part for me was seeing a comment under the Yahoo article last night from a Bruins fan claiming Lucic didn't get knocked out, he just slipped on the stick that was at his feet.

Never underestimate Boston fans' ability to bend reality in favor of their heroes.

That wasn't blood coming from his mouth, it was clam chowda.

  9. They haven't yet released information on how folks can get tickets to the game in Detroit. Wish I could go.

This morning there was mention that tickets would be free and that Bills season ticket holders would get first crack at them. If this is what will happen or even if it's true, I haven't heard anything further.

  10. I think it's been decades since a dome was put on a new NFL stadium, it's not a thing people do anymore, unless you meant roof in general?

"Domes" are a thing of the past, although since 2006 there's been 3 stadiums with retractable roofs, Dallas, Indianapolis and Arizona, While you are right, they're not the typical "domed stadium, it's pretty much the same thing IMO. Since that time only 2 open air stadiums have been built, New Jersey and San Diego. I would prefer an open air stadium, but if Buffalo is to ever host a Super Bowl, I'd think the chances are much greater with a roof.
