    Not sure if anyones seen or heard the interview with Mike Gillis on am 1040 out of Vancouver this morning but he's essentially given an ultimatum to his owner. Its Torts or me. He wants a return to the up tempo style they played under the former coach. He alluded to the fact that Torts was not his choice but the owners as was the 5 year contract. It was basically an I told you so moment aimed at the owner who from all appearances is a meddler. I should add that the article I read was on Yahoo so it is a little sensationalist with the ultimatum in the title. Take it for what it is. In my view Gillis has to share much of the blame in Vancouver with some braindead moves and mismanagement in the last couple of years.

    I'm just as down on Staff as anyone. ( did I just say that ? :blink: ), but if he keeps working his tail off and stepping up for team mates I don't have a problem with him being around this team.( did I just say that ? :blink: )

    Douglas Murray of the Canadians absolutely layed out Mike Kostka of the Lightening with a sick elbow tonight. KNOCKED THE F### OUT COLD. There has to be a suspension for that one.

    I have to agree. Look no further than Boston for a team that makes shrewd personal decisions and lately anyways is always in the conversation when the stanley cup is mentioned. We'll get there but it'll take a boatload of faith and some pain along the way. I hated being that team that always just snuck in ( or didn't ) and never seemed to improve enough to fulfill the promise that management sold us.

    The youngest of the 2 kids to the left of Gordy in the picture would have been about my age or a tad older than myself. I had the same striped pants but two toned green light and dark that my mom bless her heart made for me. I hated those damn pants but I had to wear em cause ma made em. Ah the seventies.

    I have to say I loved the way Rick bit Kris Kristophersons throat out. Rick went all Rick on us. I'm thinking that the grill at Terminus is drugged to give the cult there the upper hand on new arrivals.

    I agree with all of that. Rask and Lundqvist are good goaltenders but they don't put doubt into the minds of great goal scorers and entire teams. Nobody in the goaltending ranks does that like Dom did.

    Its good to see Dom back and looking healthy and happy. Its nice to see Ted Nolan and Dom getting along just fine despite what the media would prolly rather spin. It was a long time ago but you just know they'd prefer discord to harmony.

    I suppose. Is that decided by the players association and the league. Seems to me it would work better the other way but what ever. We live with what we get.

    This is where the league has it wrong. They should have to decide on wether they want the pick or not before the lottery takes place. They give us their pick and we have two spots in the lotto. They don't and we get one this year but two next.

    With the proposed changes to the lottery getting the isles first next year might work out even if it isn't top 5 but in the 5-10 range. Who knows ? I want to see improvement next year. Baby steps ?
