22nd doesn't put him in the top 30? You hate everything Sabres and you're looking foolish.

How exactly does someone guess 32-36 and would be surprised but not shocked if it's 40? Am I splitting hairs and splitting hairs?

Johnny Gaudreau and Brother Matthew Killed by Drunk Driver

Oh no. Complete sadness came over me. My heart just dropped for those people. -
I'm putting a lot of faith in Lindy. Maybe too much and I know he's not the be all. I just think it's hard to deny, he's a legitimate coach. I voted that we of course have above average talent. All but Dahlin haven't realized it. I do think we're mostly soft as a measurement of the group as a whole. However because of the talent and Dahlin, I think they measure to above average, despite the fact it hasn't materialized on the ice. Power, Samuelsson Byrum and Clifton have to get better, way better. It's a huge ask but to my original point, I trust Lindy to bring it out of them.

I think what's missing here for me is using the words over and leaps as it relates to average. When I first read LGR's post, I couldn't help but feel like, man we're in more trouble than I thought. My brain went to, how can I expect several players to have career years to get to that desired goal number? Am I the only one that let their brain have that thought? However the average kept coming back into my mind. Why can't MORE players sum above their average subtracted from the sum of players below their average be greater? I absolutely think this can happen. I certainly don't know that it will be 17 goals greater than the sum of averages, but to me, it's not unreasonable to think it can be closer to 270 than 253.

I'll be happy for him, especially if about 15 of them are against Vegas.

I don't blame anyone for the way this franchise has caused them to feel. However, I think some of the negative gets a little out of hand. It's reasonable to believe some players that had a down year can bounce back, young players can continue getting better, the bottom 6 can be better and Lindy will be can be a significant influence. If we stay healthy and UPL is legit, I think we'll be a good team that we can respect.

I picked #1. Initially it felt weird and desperate, aken to Levy as GM. However, it started to make more sense to me. This team needed a pro voice in the room. KA has no experience building a team and it showed. Not that I don't think he has done some good things. Lindy, IMO, was the one guy on the list of available coaches KA would listen to with the least amount of time to get comfortable with. I have no idea how good we'll be but I believe these players acquired were targeted. I personally feel better Lindy was a part of that process.

I'm excited about the upcoming season.

I had the same exact dream but my wife was the goalie. I kid...

Pegula seems to have drafted very well and put together a nice pool. Am I doing that right?

Is KA done tinkering with the roster this off-season?

My guess is the organization was already feeling a certain way about Skinner and Ruff agreed he can move forward without him. -
KA: "Hey just to let you know we made the trade for Malenstyn." TP: "ok" I think we can put to rest Terry is making hockey decisions and dictating.
-
Samuelsson hopefully healthy, Byram coming late and starting the season with us, the upgrades to more defensively responsible forwards with speed and Ruff make me feel comfortable with our goalie situation. If UPL played well last year, I have to believe not only he can be, but the situation around him should be too.

I like them the most and voted twice. That likely did it.

JMO, but I'd imagine it's fairly simple to determine the numbers and "process" is just another way of saying - we give the sides time (2 weeks) to agree on something before the hearing date. I don't believe it actually takes the arbitrator two weeks. The evidence that is allowed to be presented during these hearings included a player's performance/statistics, injury history, length of service, leadership qualities and contribution to the team's results. Teams/players cannot use other players' salaries or the state of the team's cap situation during these discussions.

My apologies for depicting you as mostly negative. My recollection was incorrect.

Rumor: There has been word that teams don’t want to deal with Buffalo

Really like this post and I agree. I haven't gone through a thorough comparison but it feels like he did less for Granato and Krueger vs Ruff. So agreeing that KA has tried to accommodate coaches to some degree, I'm of the opinion he's doing more because Ruff knows better what to do than previous coaches. There seems to be a trust and simpatico situation developing. It could be that KA is feeling that for the first time and hence a we're seeing a more aggressive KA. I also believe the timing is right for bigger moves, where I'm not sure it was until now. It's for this reason, I loved the Ruff hire, far beyond nostalgia. -

There's no question Lindy's influence is all over this off season. He's a man to be trusted too. He knows players as well as anyone, GM or coach. -
When you try to Dog the franchise in every single thing, it starts to turn your posts into something to not take seriously. I know you love the team. It's time to give it a rest and it's ok to start recognizing things are looking up.

Oh definitely know we're not arguing, I just wanted to make sure you knew I wasn't. So the deal with the Oilers factors in. Cheaper with a lot of skill and McLeod does multiple things. So IMO, our factors could be coming together in order to do a proper comparison for losing Mitts. A lot to discuss with this move today for sure.
