  1. I'm afraid you're stuck with this one, sir.
  2. I think the plan is to increase by close to 100%, not 10%.
  3. Without checking the #s, I'm guessing this is a pretty small sample size. Does he not appear diminished to you? Exactly. That slapper was an elite NHL skill. The rest of his game has steadily improved, and if the slapper returns I think he's a top-6 NHL player, but without it, I'm not sure he's much more than JAG.
  4. Anyone got any deets on his background? The tweets from Evolving Wild upthread make it sound like he's been around for a while, but "data engineer" sounds like a junior position.
  5. I sure hope this proves out but I don't think it's accurate at this point in time.
  6. Bring us the Mule!
  7. Is Zemgus in danger of being healthy-scratched? I'd be surprised if Hayden or Asplund were in the lineup in his stead, but those practice lines don't look good for Zemgus.
  8. Gotcha. I think the answer is yes -- I think Krebs will continue to get PP time, likely ahead of VO, who seems to cough it up every time he gets it. At ES, while Cozens will probably retake the #2C spot with KO, Krebs will take over #3C, with wingers like Vinnie and Zemgus, pushing Eakin down to #4C (and btw I think Eakin has been playing pretty well lately). So maybe: Skinner-TT-Tuch Murray-Cozens-KO VO-Krebs-Vinnie Zemgus-Eakin-Asplund
  9. I'm not sure "top 6 minutes" is the correct barometer here. The Sabres have 9 forwards (including Krebs) averaging between 15:23 (Zemgus) and 17:32 (TT) per game. Krebs is one of them at 16:11 per game. Vinnie only averages 14:06 per game. When Cozens returns, he'll probably be ahead of Krebs in the rotation, but I think Krebs will continue to get more ice time than Vinnie and Asplund. I also can see Krebs surpassing VO, who, as you've pointed out, seems substantially less effective since returning from injury. His one-time slapper is gone -- I think he's physically unable to shoot it.
  10. I think Krebs looked ready and pretty good in the last 2 games. I don't expect him to be sent down.
  11. He sure seems like he has a screw loose.
  12. I saw Licorice Pizza in a theater this evening — only the 3rd time I’ve been to one since March 2020. It was nice to go to a theater and the movie was pretty good. If you like PT Anderson’s movies, you’ll like this one.
  13. From the Athletic's post-aborted-WJC column giving impressions of a bunch of players: When Chara was in his (very long) prime, one of the underrated qualities that made him an elite defenseman was that it was basically impossible to dump-and-chase into his side of the ice (plus a decent chunk of the the other side). His range and smarts, plus decent puck skills, enabled him to retrieve the puck and get it out of the d-zone just about every time. If we're very lucky, Power will bring that to the table. It won't happen right away, but as he learns the NHL game, it might happen, and it could be transformative.
  14. The Progressive ones about becoming your parents crack me up every time though.
  15. You mean peacock, right? I don’t think it’s on prime?
  16. I want to watch Yellowstone but I can’t bring myself to sign up for another streaming service just for 1 show.
  17. Interesting. I spoke with someone recently who is having the same problem on his smart tv. I have no problem on Roku, fire stick, PC, iPhone or iPad.
  18. Yes -- I recommend it. It's not perfect, but it works pretty well and you can access it from anywhere on roku, PC, phone, tablet, etc. It also has DVR functionality -- i.e. you can watch a 7:00 pm game from the beginning even if you are busy until 8:00 pm.
  19. This is kinda heavy, but here goes: we received an email from my daughter's high school informing us that one of her basketball teammates suddenly became very ill over Christmas weekend and died. She was 15 years old and an excellent athlete (and didn't have asthma or diabetes or any other serious condition that my daughter knew of). I cannot imagine what her parents must be going through.
  20. They certainly had quite a bit of lineup disruption last night, especially on D, but still. They got dominated by a non-playoff team, and UPL looked pretty shaky. thought in particular their passing was off target, their forechecking was meh and NJ was able to keep the game in the Sabres' end most of the game. I'm hoping for a much better performance tonight.
  21. I got about 30% of the way through “Don’t look up” on Netflix and bailed. Not funny.
  22. Thanks, but I don't see options for "paste unformatted" or "paste text only" anywhere (either in SS or when I right-click after copying something)?
  23. NJ Line combos (does anyone know how to copy and paste from dailyfaceoff? For some reason it doesn't work anymore like it used to.) Pavel Zacha - Nico Hischier - Jesper Bratt Janne Kuokkanen - Jack Hughes - Yegor Sharangovich Andreas Johnsson - Dawson Mercer - Jimmy Vesey Jesper Boqvist - Michael McLeod - Nathan Bastian Ryan Graves - Dougie Hamilton Jonas Siegenthaler - P.K. Subban Ty Smith - Damon Severson
  24. Awesome.
