As consistent as the Autumn leaves falling to the ground, this team is enroute to their annual mid-Nov through December 10 game losing streak... or losing something like 8 of 10, 10 of 12, etc... As of this moment today, I would give them close to 0% chance to leap frog all the other teams to even sniff the 8th seed. It's already over and that's sad once again.

I hear you. But my kid was in second grade, the last time the Sabres made the playoffs and he’s a big Sabre fan. He’s now a junior in college, that’s insane. something dramatic needs to change.

I want Ruff gone, Kevyn gone and for the last few years i’ve wished Terry would sell the team. For whatever reason he’s not the man for hockey. Some new owner would luckbox his way into more success than Terry has.

Ruff sucks and needs to be fired tonight. What a disaster this team continues to be. They’ve had a ton of home games, so the easy part of the schedule is over.

Several teams probably have had 2+ successful rebuilds during the Sabres drought. Just sad here. Canadians and Detroit looking good. Teams like Utah and Anaheim finding their way.

Was following here. This is the single most depressing game thread in Sabres history. Everything is negative. I did not have any hopes of playoffs since i see 6 teams better than the Sabres in our own division.

Toronto scored 4 goals on like 18 shots vs Mammoth. Then an empty netter. Won the 3rd period, won the game.

That’s a 3 game losing streak and that can turn in to 5-7–10 if you’re not careful. we know the history here.

I mean you want saves but my gosh you gotta score more than 1 goal against one of the worst teams.

I don't blame Levi. They have 3 guys ahead of him now, one of which was plucked from another organizations AHL squad. If he orchestrates his way out of the Sabres organization then best of luck to him.

So the answer looks to be No, they are not for real. Yet. Clearly the next 20 games will separate them from seasons past if they can keep stacking points and not have the dreaded 8-10-12 game losing streak.

Every other Atlantic division club won tonight so this was a pretty bad blown 3rd period lead. and OT loss.

As others have said the problem i have with UPL is his penchant for giving up mid-late 3rd period goals. Thats the money time when a lot of games are tied or you are up 1 or down 1 and need a save. But maybe even getting to OT is improvement. Certainly we have lost plenty of games the last few seasons by giving up the late 3rd period goal to break a tie. and UPL has been in the net for a lot of those.

I saw on X that Ellis was scheduled to start, but he wasn’t feeling well or something. Not sure if that’s true but supposedly UPL was not supposed to play as of earlier today. Then got the nod.

I want UPL traded yesterday. There are plenty of other clubs looking for a goalie with experience, and Buffalo should take whatever salary hit they have to absorb to make a trade

UPL scares me. Usually fails in 3rd periods. Not all him of course but he doesn’t make me think the Sabres are getting 2 points. I’d happily take the OT point and see what happens.

What i like is that he took swings at new goalies this season and eventually will luck his way into something really good. So now Lyon is playing at a high level (that save last night late and Tuch’s goal 10 seconds later is an example of what would not have happened last year). and Ellis coming from the Blues organization could be another goalie ready to break out at the NHL level. So maybe KA finally hit the winning goalie lottery

seems like a big reason the Sabres are better this year is because they are getting penalty kill saves and mid-late 3rd period saves at a better success rate than the last few years. To boil us down, better goaltending. obvious but true

Wild period. This has to be one of these games the Sabres get at least 1 point if not the 2. Can’t be on that home regulation loss train like they have for too many seasons. Stack points at home.

KA is up to something, because i know they are not parting ways with Lyon or Ellis anytime soon.

Kevyn Adams has been waiting several years to luckbox his way into a goalie or goalies that the organization can trust. There's no chance Colten Ellis is going anywhere, anytime soon. They have Lyons who looks good and they need to see what Ellis can do on a semi consistent basis. Both these guys look calm and poised. They may have hit on something great and cannot dismiss that. If I was GM I would have been on the phone last night trying to see if I can muster up a trade of UPL. He's not the future here imo. Other teams need experienced goaltending. I'd also see if I can move Owen Power, just because I'm over him. Sell high while both guys have some decent value.

Looked like his left arm...wrist, elbow, shoulder? who knows. Hopefully nothing too bad but I'm expecting to hear the dreaded "week to week" prognosis. If he's back in the lineup anytime before mid-November I'd consider that a win.
