  1. Can someone get Rheinhart out of here then? If I were the GM, I wouldn't allow him within 50 clicks of the arena, there is ZERO positives he can pick up with this team, as it is.
  2. We're lulling them into a false sense of security. Holy crap, I never saw this piss-poor passing even at a pro game, and when a pass randomly connects, it bounces off the recepients stick.
  3. At this rate - Good.
  4. This has got to be the slowest Sabres team I ever saw.
  5. Wow, the arena is as quiet as a morgue....?
  6. Some would say that "luck" had a lot to do with Bill Wirtz passing.
  7. Even if this team lands McDavid, there's no way he lifts them from the basement, on his own. We have no goaltending anymore, our defense is suspect, and the less said of our so-called PP, the better. In other words, business as usual ;) What I'm really curious about, is how TM is going to approach improving the team, I doubt he's content with "improving through the draft", as a certain idiot GM so eloquently put it.
  8. I wouldn't know, haven't seen a good PP in ages.
  9. Well, I'll say this though - A good PP can make an average team look pretty darn decent.
  10. Not sure I agree with that, I think at least half of those 45% are just plain disappointed about being outshot 2-1 by Columbus, on home ice. It's not like they were playing the Hawks in Chicago.
  11. Unless someone else starts finding the net on a regular basis, he's gonna have to.
  12. As others have mentioned, one can say what they will about Ryan Miller, but he would steal 4-5 games a season for you, and keep you in at least 10-12 more. Unless Enroth or Nieuwirth play absolutely lights out this year, I see a bottom-5 team, possibly bottom-3.
  13. Is Darcy back...?
  14. Few goalies are. My memory escapes me, but did any goalie in recent history, carry a team to a cup? Brodeur in '95? Does that even qualify?
  15. I agree, I'm not in the "he needs to play against NHL level competition camp". By the sounds of it, he lacks strength and speed - Both of which he can easily work on in juniors. Without either, he won't learn much at playing against NHL'ers. If he is indeed slow, then I agree upthread - Drafting another center with skating issues is plain stupid.
  16. Haven't seen him play, but I was always in the "If he's not the next Crosby, stick him in juniors and let the tank go on" camp.
  17. I know it's hockey, but god oh god, I do detest these pre-season games.
  18. I like it, especially the blue & gold goathead.
  19. Oh great! You HAD to go and do that.... Mention his name....!! Everybody look for the presser before pre-season, in which TP announces Larry the Moron is the new President of Hockey Operations. I called it :flirt:
  20. Don't mean to start a flame-war, but X360 NHL15 is getting a rough ride in this preview, assuming it's real, and I don't see why it wouldn't be. I pretty much expected current-gen NHL15 to be something more like NHL14 V2.0, however according to this preview, it seems more like NHL14 V1.02. Like I said, don't mean to throw fuel on the fire, everyone decides for themselves.
  21. Makes sense. I usually only play Be A Pro, and online versus, so I guess I'm one of the people not missing much. Sure, BAP isn't the Live The Life, but that particular game mode did seem very hastily added anyway. Only thing that bothers me righht now is the no-sim-to-next-shift, which is supposedly added in a september patch, so...
  22. That makes sense, but that really only leaves me with the feeling that EA still got it "right", considering there's an NHL15 fo current gen consoles too, with all these features intact. I know it's not perfect, but at least it gives the consumer a choice to base his purchase on needs. Including all game modes in the next gen release, and written a less than stealler on-ice game, IMHO was the worst option viable to them. And in terms how franchises carried over features, I was always under the impression that the NHL franchise was a niche compared to Madden and FIFA, and as such the dev teams are much smaller?
  23. Don't mean to add to the mud-slinging here, but here's my two cents : Honestly, if you haven't played it, how can you really tell? I've played it, and I enjoy the gameplay, which I'll take over different game modes any day. Programming a hockey game from the ground up must be a huge task, and in the case of the current gen series, they had years to develop and tweak their game engine. Leaving time for developing new and interesting game modes. NHL07 wasn't a very good game. They ended up pretty much having to do NHL08 from scratch, or at least that's how it felt. NHL08 was an improvement so huge, it felt like a different franchise altogether, NHL15 is an improved hockey experience over NHL14, which I feared it wouldn't be. I'm sorry, you can call me EA fanboy or whatever, but I would've hated for them to focus so much of their energy into adding different game modes, that they ended up programming a bad game they would need to patch on for years to come.
