I guess I have always looked at it the opposite. I am trading the prospect for someone who has already worked out and become a great player. Isn't that better than having the hopes that a prospect will work out!!
It is. Same as trading a draft pick for an existing NHL player is. I agree w/ you here. I just don't like three of those four proposals and the fourth one (#2) creates problems down the road.

Well that's a ***** thing to read when you wake up in the middle of the night.
I'm sure we all have our memories. I'll leave it to others to post them for now.
God bless, Rick.

None of those:
1. I don't want or need McDonagh. I already have Johnson, who is only a year older. Saros and someone else, we might talk. There also are serious cap problems here. How is it even possible?
2. This isn't a bad deal. The price is right. The cap hit isn't, unfortunately, because it doesn't give me room to maneuver later in the season, especially if my goalie situation, which I inherited, doesn't work out.
3. I'm not trading Krebs unless it's part of a much larger deal. I have big expectations for him. Plus, it creates the same cap problem (even if the situation in goal is solved by the addition of Ullmark). And Ullmark didn't want to be here. So bye, Felicia.
4. No, that's their crap for my better-than-crap. I'll admit, I don't get to watch a lot of Western Conference hockey, but nah. I'll hold onto Jost and Lybushkin.

Both of them are horrible.

I am moderator for my neighborhood's page and at this point for every legit new member there are at least 4 or 5 guys with a name like Jason Brian (no last name, or a very common last name), whose actual name in their Facebook profile url is akeem.faruk.
Check out a YouTube channel called Pleasant Green. The guy spends a lot of time busting scammers like these.

Why don’t I remember Adam Dennis?
I didn't remember that Shaone Morissonn played here that that's not even that long ago.

Yup, and Kenny Hodge went from 8 to 88, and Brad Park went from 2 to 22. That happened and Gretzky came in with 99.
***** Brad Park though.

I remember when Ottawa had a similar rule (the limit was 49 I think) and it was a brilliant idea. About 20 years ago maybe?

It was super cool.
I have ALMOST switched affiliations because of it. It was that awesome having them here. To the extent that I'll follow baseball anymore, which is little because of the shift ban and near-ban on pitchers batting (the last remaining great parts of the game), I'll still like the and Nats (Expos remnants). I'll always have my soft spot for the Cubs (family) , and I'll always have a soft spot for the O's, too. But if the Orioles and Blue Jays meet up in October, I might just root for the Jays. (I probably won't watch any of it, though, because of aforementioned objections to the game itself.)

He's probably going to treat himself to luxuries, but he's not going to spend an extra $300MM to $1B on cost overruns driven by graft, corruption and unions. No one does that.

I took my Dad too. He was 88 at the time.
Yeah mine was 78. Used to be that for that kind of money, I was going to get a little something-something afterwards with some date. The hug in the parking lot w/ my dad was more memorable by far.

I enjoy Bisons games on a nice summer day in Buffalo. I did get to see MLB in Buffalo when the Blue Jays played there. That was a treat.
It was a $250 night, but taking my dad to see Red Sox - Blue Jays in a stadium that small is an experience I'll never forget.

This showed up in my email and I thought some of you might be interested:
The Bisons are home through Sunday with some of the Summer’s biggest events, highlighted by Saturday’s Hockey Night at the Ballpark in collaboration with the Buffalo Sabres. Legendary winger Danny Gare has the ceremonial first pitch and greats Marty Biron & Rhett Warrener will be part of a pregame Autograph Session. There will be a Hockey Night Jersey Raffle of the game-worn & signed Bisons player jerseys, Sabres Giveaways Every Inning, and of course an appearance by Sabretooth!
This weekend also includes a Honda fridaynightbash!® with Fireworks that is also Obscure Jersey Night where you can win prizes when you wear that odd, outdated sports jersey you own. Sunday’s Back 2 School & Carnival Day will include a Pop-It Giveaway, 10+ Inflatables and postgame Kids Run the Bases!
Summer weekends don’t get any better than this. We’ll see you at the ballpark!!!- 2

Ok, I can see where different tastes might lead you to the first four on the list...but COLUMBUS?! Do strip malls and laminated menus really excite you that much?

Florida, Tampa, Dallas, Phoenix, Nashville.

Montreal -- who doesn't want a chance to play with Montreal?
Vancouver -- I hear it's beautiful.
Chicago -- I don't like the idea that the Blackhawks are seventh in popularity out of six major league teams there, but I do love that city.
Minnesota--seems like St. Paul would be a cool place. Good fans.
Colorado--Inoffensive enough.

Just screwing around, sorry. But "I ever have met" would be the correct construction IMO. Or "I have met, ever."

Shouldn’t it be “I have ever met,” or “I’ve ever met”?
What he wrote sounds wrong to me.
I e'er h'met.

They're not worried about the price of the stadium. The profit in sports team ownership is in the appreciation and not in the revenue. I feel like we've covered this ground before.

This one was a big deal because she beat world number one and previous nemesis Iga Swiatek in the semifinals. She also beat her doubles partner, Coco Gauff, in the quarterfinals. This might be thr biggest prep tourney for the US Open next month.
Jessie is world number three and has earned almost four million in prize money in her career. She’s made the quarters in all four of the majors at least once in her career. I’ll be watching the US Open and hope she breaks through in a major. She’s also a lock for the US Olympic Team in Paris 2024. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸She will have the easiest opportunities at the US and Aussie Opens (see my comments in The Other Sports Thread). Wimbledon will always be tough for Americans--you need to be on a Williams/Sampras level to win there because we don't have many grass courts here anymore. Same goes for clay at Roland Garros.

The subject matter was Ilhan Omar. The newspaper was the Guardian.
Did you not understand my last sentence? And I have grave doubts that you were banned because of a Guardian article about Ilhan Omar. In any event, I did give you several chances to discuss it here, you've stumbled, fumbled, and dissembled, and, as I said, I'm not doing it anymore.

No. I posted a link to a newspaper article. There was some discussion. You then threw me out. The thread was deleted. What are these conspiracy theories you speak of?
You're being evasive and screwing around (I have asked FOUR times now), and I don't have time for it. I know what my standards are for that club, and if it was an article from the NY Post or WSJ, it wouldn't have gotten you banned. It likely was something from some weird source with some weird conspiracy theory. If you want to discuss it seriously, you're welcome to do so--over PM. I'm not doing this game-playing here.

I'm sure I KNEW, which is different than presently KNOWING. It likely was years ago; you likely deserved it. Again, answer my question, please. Most of the people removed were removed because of conspiracy theories--did you post one?
