There's plenty wrong. They're tone deaf. Focus on the hurt being alleged. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, Mr. Billionaire. You spent your entire statement doing that.
Never been falsely accused of something heinous that you didn't actually do?

I'd be stunned if any decent PR professional was involved in preparing that statement. I think it's John Roth or someone who reports directly to him. Agreed 100% on efforts to sound lawyerly will doom any press release.
Maybe it was the Pegula kid who designed the BS hat who wrote it.

Also FWIW Sports Illustrated described Trotter as an "esteemed" reporter.
I'm sure he is.
Keep in mind that no one circles the wagons like the press defending one of their own.
1 minute ago, PASabreFan said:The fact Terry didn't say he didn't say it is interesting.
He did. It was worded clumsily.

Hoo boy. The butchery of language continues unabated under John Roth. (A pet theory I've developed: I think he pens these things.)
Sentence the first:
"The statement attributed to me in Mr. Trotter's complaint is absolutely false."
It's false how? It's false that black athletes who push civil rights issues should go back to Africa? That's a thing that is untrue and should not be said? Or are you saying that "I did not say that." Because it's unclear, Terry. Also, Terry, are you preparing to throw someone else under the bus? The phrase "attributed to me" sounds an awful lot like you agree it was said, but you weren't the one to say it.
"I am horrified that anyone would connect me to an allegation of this kind."
Da fuq? There are so many words to pick here. Horrified? Hey, Terry. It's horrifying when mortifying truths come to light too. You did not want that word here. Oof.
"Racism has no place in our society"
[Golf clap.]
"and I am personally disgusted that my name is associated with this complaint."
Is there another way to be disgusted that plays here? From a professional standpoint, are you cool with this? Yowza. Also, we're again focused on how these allegations affect you, Terry. "I can't believe my name's attached to this thing." Not a whole lot of talk from Terry about how it's patently untrue that this thing was said in a forum where this plaintiff was present (Zoom or whatever). Just a lot of woe is me for having your name "associated" with the allegations.
What an absolute and total cluster.
1. "The statement attributed to me in Mr. Trotter's complaint is absolutely false."
This, indeed, is horribly worded. I think we both know what he meant, though: "I didn't say that." I think sometimes PR writers get too caught up in trying to sound fancy and/or trying to sound like lawyers.
2. "I am horrified that anyone would connect me to an allegation of this kind." AND "and I am personally disgusted that my name is associated with this complaint."
There's nothing wrong with these. He's allowed to have an emotional reaction to what (he says) is a false accusation.
3. "Racism has no place in our society"
Did you honestly expect that any response to something like this, from anyone, would NOT include something like this?

Yeah, the guy who married a woman of a different race and who has several brown kids is going to say something like that. Eyeroll thingy.

Brilliant.
As for the article itself, it feels very "nothing to see here" to me.

That TD turned the tide, though. I'm not saying I love the guy, but I am saying he has his ups and downs.

The fact that the Chiefs put their eggs in the Kadarius Toney (sp?) basket is proof that every single franchise, even the great ones, will make horrendous personnel decisions based on the need to manage their money (i.e., the salary cap is mostly fake but is also sort of real). The Chiefs would have probably won if they played anyone else in Toney's place.
He also contributed heavily in the last SB. I'm enjoying the Toney memes etc. as much as anyone, but I'm not going to evaluate him based just upon yesterday, just like I'm not going to evaluate him based just upon the SB.

Power will never be part of PP1 unless they go to a PP1 group with both of them on the point.
But that could happen--and could be awesome. I know most PP1 units have a forward on the point, but that can backfire (Alfredsson) and with their abilities, this could be amazing. Or Power could be on the point of PP2, which also presents a threat.

Maybe he's the senior advisor TO the general manager.

I haven't read the details, but on the surface, this is as stupid as it was to go to that ***** uniform in the first instance.
The Buffalo Sabres wear white sweaters with blue breezers. Blue sweaters with blue breezers. Beautiful deep gold trim on both. The logo is a charging buffalo above two sabres. THAT IS IT.

I don't think Greenway and Krebs overlap as much as you seem to. I see Krebs and Greenway both as disruptive forecheckers. I don't see Greenway as much of a playmaker though and I think the other two would still look to Krebs to drive the play. I could see the line working but on the other hand if it struggles limiting their minutes would probably be the least disruptive to the rest of the team.
Oh I think you see them exactly the same way I do!

This article makes the case that all three need to improve, and then goes on to suggest that the three might benefit from playing as line mates while the Sabs await Quinn's return: https://thehockeywriters.com/3-sabres-impress-right-away-2023-24/
I don't think I agree, but I found it stimulating enough for off-season discussion.
Certainly, Krebs is enough of a playmaker that he can feed Olofsson, but is Greenway enough of a playmaker to get the puck to Krebs? And would this disrupt Krebs's development as a checking center? (I really see him in Peca's mold, but probably not as good.) Greenway and Krebs would cover Olofsson's defensive irresponsibility, I at least can see that.

Just curious. Is the skiing season still pretty good in your area or has it been recently affected by the lack of snow in the winter season? I'm aware that there are snow machines to compensate but I'm not sure that manufacturing snow can compensate enough for a low snowfall.
We did NOT lack snow last winter! WNY was literally a disaster area once, and figuratively, three times.

Anytime the Sabres are good, very good, or scary good the crowd attendance is never a problem. The best it will ever be is about 25-30% Leaf’s/Canadian fans if the STH’s would not use these games to recoup costs. For that to happen the team has to be exciting and legit.
I'm sorry, but I remember 50/50 even in 2006-ish. It was 25% for the Sens, even. It's just how it is here, we live next to about 25% of Canada's population and anyone whose granddad filled up at a gas station where Bobby Orr took a poop once is a Bruins fan, on top of it.

The dearth of corporate money is an issue.
Regrettably, not even the Buffalo Billion has helped improve our prospects in that regard.
It doesn't matter. There isn't corporate money in Winnipeg or Phoenix (not for hockey!) either. Or a few other cities but I'm too tired! The fact that there are only two teams HELPS, not hurts. Think of how much more corporate money St. Louis gets now that it's just them and the Cardinals.
