  1. What I'd like to see tonight.... 1) Enroth 2) More than 3 goals for the good guys, which hasn't yet happened under Rolston (there was a 4-3 shootout win, but I don't count that).
  2. I just...don't understand. I mean, it's an friggin NHL team. How do you so consistently blow 2 goal leads over a three year period?
  3. ######. How do you explain these second periods? Is there a freakin gas leak in the locker room?
  4. Remember when Weber couldn't even crack the starting lineup, for the sake of Marc Andre Gragnani?
  5. This could easily be 4-0 and the Sens haven't had more than probably one quality chance.
  6. The dreaded 2-0 lead. Gotta love the energy in this period, though. Not a lot of heavy hitting, but nice toughness on the puck in both zones.
  7. If there was ever a time for the PP to remove its head from its rectum, that'd be now.
  8. The glaring difference between these teams is the Rangers' ability (and the Sabres' lack thereof) to challenge the puck carrier AT the blue line. Our definition of successful defense is clearing the zone. Theirs is keeping it out of the zone.
  9. That's about as pathetic as a PP can get without surrendering the shortie.
  10. Isn't he essentially saying "The Sabres are a grittier team than the Lightning, which may demand a different style of play, but ultimately the onus is on us regardless of the opponent."?
  11. And he doesn't appear to be on the doorstep or anything...ya know, "snakebitten"...he's just toothless on offense. The shots he gets are low percentage ones directly into the goalie's logo.
  12. I think that Kaleta and Ott deliberately set out to get under Kovalchuk's and Clarkson's skin, respectively. It's not classless, but you always hate the other team's pests.
  13. I'll have to check out the presser. If you're right, that strikes me as a mistake. If you can't trust your backup, the answer is to get a new backup - not to nail the starter's pads to the ice. Look at the best teams in the league and most of them are operating with a 60/40 or 70/30 platoon. There's something to be said for it, methinks.
  14. Hmm. I don't think you'll find anybody calling them world beaters. The fact is that they've looked average under Rolston, as opposed to abysmal under Ruff. This especially applies to the blue liners. Only Myers is still foundering. All in all, I'm no more enthralled by this team's future than I was, but game nights don't feel hopeless anymore.
  15. I assume we'll see Enroth tonight. I imagine he'll be equal parts rusty and eager to prove himself.
  16. I can't even remember the last time we held a team scoreless through 2 periods, not to mention 3 and an OT.
