I don't think there's any doubt that yesterday was the Sabres' best game of the season. Complete domination against a team that's actually been pretty good this year. What I liked was that everybody played their role perfectly. The scorers scored. The fighters fought. The penalty killers killed penalties. The goalie goalied. Now, was it a fluke? Win or lose, tonight's effort will answer that question.

If we play at a .650 clip for the remainder of the season, we'll have 100 points (assuming 3 or 4 of our losses are in OT) and fight for the division crown, not just the playoffs. Things aren't THAT desperate yet haha.

We came out with the heart of a champion in the first period yesterday. How about more of the same tonight?

The best part of today's win? Every other team in the division lost.

I don't get why the fates always seem to conspire to rob Miller of shutouts. He gets an anamolously few for a goaltender of his caliber.

Not a good second period so far. A few good chances for the Leafs, not very good puck possession on our part, and we've given them a couple power plays for no good reason.

Yeah, maybe I should have known all along. But we won the division last year. We got 100 points. I figured it was just a slump there at the beginning. Clearly, something has changed since last season.

Well guys, we can talk til we're blue in the face about the effort tonight or how close we were to scoring. The bottom line, however, is that the team has won 8 out of 23 games this season. I'm not burying them or anything, but it's starting to feel like we're not watching a playoff team here.

Typical Sabres. Lalime and Enroth hold two offensively gifted teams to 3 goals over 2 games. Only problem is we can only score 1 goal over 120 minutes of hockey. :wallbash:

Yes, Miller's playing well. But sometimes you need to win games 1-0 or 2-1 on the strength of your goaltender, and that hasn't happened so far.

One reason we have a losing record so far this season is that we're 22 games into the season, and still yet to have a truly dominating goaltender performance.

You realize -8 is one higher than -9, right? So he was +1 for the game. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, somehow.
