When I was a dumb kid growing up on the east side, we used to set off M80s for yucks. Looking back I'm lucky I don't lose a limb. Now I live in NH where fireworks are legal (Live Free or/and Die!) We have a superstore in our town. Every year the neighbors chip in for a private show on our cul de sac. Kids running around. Not the smartest move. Lucky this weekend was a monsoon so no boom boom.

If the Sabres decline is there compensation? Sam was 1st round pick. Don't we get a couple #1s back? I remember the Vanek offer sheet from EDM could have netted the Sabres 4 #1s. In hindsight that would have been the play. But Buffalo had just let Briere and Drury walk. Letting Vanek leave would have caused the fanbase to riot.

Shouldn't a guy making his money bring offense to the team? Your basically saying Skinner needs everything teed up for him.

Thanks for the concern but I'm fine. I don't let the negativity ruin things for me. This is no different than Two Bill Drive in the midst of the 17-year playoff drought. Some people love to wallow in misery. When you're at the bottom you can feel sorry for yourself, or you can work to climb out. Based on what I saw from Don Granato's Sabres last year, I have confidence this team can start climbing.
