Stupid Ohio missed a bunch of weeks thanks to Covid, including the last two weeks of the regular season. They came into the MAC Tournament rested and it showed with UB playing a tough OT game the night before. However UB did get into the NIT. They will be on ESPN2 again Friday at 7pm vs. Colorado State.

You need decent functioning players at all positions. But I contend half the goals given up by the Sabres are the result of stupid mistakes in the defensive end. Cut those out and you don't need Dom Hasek to bail you out 20 times a game. Easier to play better defense than finding a HoF goalie.

Disappointing, sure. But honestly the best effort I've seen in weeks. The problem is still defense more than goaltending. I thought JJ was solid and he should be the #1 going forward. (Over Hutton, not Ullmark.) The offense had a pulse without Jack We just can't stop making mistakes on defense. Chicken or the egg. I say defense, you say goaltending.
