I think you must be getting a drink or in the bathroom when B-D is erasing players. You gloss over his physical play when it's exactly what the Sabres needed more of.

I can see the logic of Östlund with Malenstyn and Lafferty. Two physical players to stand up for the young rookie. And frankly, Östlund is doing well with them. No goals yet but he's acclimating to the NHL game. He shows great anticipation and puts the same effort into defense. The Sabres know he's a scorer. They just want to see how he handles this level.

And Bernard Docker. For a throw-in he's been a revelation at defense. He's smart and physical. Just what or backline needed. As for Norris, let him heal and see what we have next year.

Because the hockey press pays no attention to the Sabres.

Except it's different every time. Different players, different coaches, different circumstances. To act like things "just happen because" is silly. (And before you say "same owner" you need to explain how that impacts the play of the team.)

It hurts all Buffalo teams. But I think the Bills can survive a drop in Canadian fans. Games are weekly and fans can drive further. Let me take this to an extreme. What happens if foreign NHL (or any league) players start getting hassled at the US border? They are already giving artists on tour a hard time.
