I don't know about Rivet but Peters strikes me as a guy you can't tell what to do. His podcast has some tremendous episodes, followed up with a self-gratuitous clunker. His episodes with JR have become unlistenable. (Roenick is another free spirit still bitter that he got let go from NBC.) After the Whistle would benefit from a professional guiding hand, but I don't think Peters wants to be reigned in.

He was feeling his oats when he nailed the Eichel trade. So he's been trying be "Scoop Peters" ever since, and whiffing every time. Then again if anything happens: a scout gets hired, a new title for someone, etc, he'll take the credit.

I just watched the replay. It's one of those plays that whatever it was initially called in the ice, replay couldn't overturn it. Not obvious either way.

Everyone needs to remember the league is now 32 teams so half don't make the playoffs. In 1990-91, there were 21 teams in the NHL and a record of 28-43-9 (65pts/.406 pts%) got you into the field of 16.

Ok whatever. I saw a team playing at playoff-caliber for three of 7 months. Injuries and COVID derailed us. So barring similar bad luck I fully expect them to be in the playoff hunt next year. Sorry but building an NHL team from the ground up takes time.

Seriously it would be 9-1 if not for Dell. The Amerks issues are two-fold. 1) Primeau has been unbeatable, and 2) the Rocket have been on the Amerks like a second skin. No room to operate, blocking passing lanes, hustling to the puck. They have been the better team by far. Sometimes you get beat by a better team. It isn't just you sucking.

The Amerks play right into the Rocket forecheck. You could see that turnover was just inevitable.

I see Laval fans follow their parent club in how they whine about everything that doesn't go their way.
