Being an NHL expansion team these days isn't what it was back in the 70's and 80's when teams like the Capitals and KC Scouts couldn't beat an AHL team...for years! Sure, you're paying through the nose for the franchise fee, but you are getting a decent stable of talent. If you have competent management, you can build a winner quickly, which is what the NHL wants! They don't want dogcrap teams when you are trying to sell a new sport in new these non-traditional markets

I think it's the Granato philosophy to score first and defend later. Make teams worry about you scoring. Once you are proficient then learn to defend. No fun for goalies though.

The Hockey Guy had a video on this topic and thought that the Coyotes had a decent case here. That the city of Phoenix and Sky Harbor Airport are reneging on prior agreements and are acting in bad faith, raising dubious objections designed to scuttle the Tempe project.

It will probably be Levi/UPL or Levi/Comrie with the odd man getting traded. If I were to guess I'd say Comrie goes.
