I think there is a curve with most Sabres transactions. Big time negative reactions out of the box, then once folks analyze what happened, it calms down. But I do recall a lot of "WTF are the Sabres doing" right off on social media over trading Savoie.

It was what we all say we want: Use an asset to get better now and overpay if you have to. Cozens/Gilbert for Norris/JBD is TBD until we see what Norris brings. Mittelstadt for Byrum I guess is a wash until we see what Byrum brings in trade. Remember how Adams "overvalues his players?? Well, look at us now.

This trade practically guarantees Byram is going somewhere.

It's weird to jump the gun like this when a deal isn't done. If this contingency doesn't happen, was this deal for real? We'd never know. Seravelli is the guy who said the Sabres were buying out Samuelsson.
