There were a surprising number of Sabres fans in attendance. On the subway ride back to my car, which was loaded with fans who were at the game, a family of Sabres fans, decked in blue and gold, were near me. The mood was subdued until the little boy, I'm guessing 5 years old, yells out "LETS GO BUF-A-LO!" breaking the silence. Everyone laughed. Even the Bruins fans.

Or this song, swapping the lyrics with "He didn't suck tonight...He didn't suck tonight...He didn't suck tonight...No suck...tonight....No suck...TONIGHT!"

No underselling on my part. Levi was solid late. Maybe it was because he wasn't worn out from a shooting gallery and breakaway drill the first two periods. You need both. You won't last long with one being good and one being bad.

You know why Levi was so effective tonight? Because the Sabres played solid defense. It makes all the difference. Think about it. There wasn't a single breakaway or Bruin hanging out untouched by the crease tonight.

I'm glad I went. Almost didn't go. Only crappy thing that happened was I lost my subway fare card.
