Nice job Numark. Looking at the list, Sabres have a lot of centers projected to be 3rd shift guys... Yet Darcy didn't think to draft a first line guy. Hopefully Locke or one of the 2nd round centers surprises us. ? So the Sabres are going live with a bunch of 3rd line centers for the next 5 years. That will work... not..

That wasn't what scared off teams. Until you I never heard of an attitude problem before he was drafted.
Really Chz, I heard it a lot that was the concern. He often appeared not listen, played the language barrier off as his excuse, he did his own thing and checked out at times especially on the effort side of things.
Some people chalked it up to diagnosis of Mono, but I heard rumbling it could just be an excuse for other problems, though I was hoping the rumors were wrong and it was just the illness.
He shows flashes of brilliance last season, but too often looked lost and floated like Stafford. Maybe it is a confidence thing with him and he will work out. Problem is the Sabres needed a guy that hit the ground running on the effort side of things. Darcy, once again making an excuse saying they got two centers last year to not go up an get one the talented top 6 this year imo is a big mistake.
High 5 Robviously for the above quotes!

Couldn't agree more, and that is why I am so neg... frustrated. I don't see a team worth watching next year.... not even remotely interesting because there is not enough talent on the top front lines... no are we going to see it much of it next year:( I was hoping we could at leat watch something developing on the ice and the front lines next year with actual skill and hustle, but until I see a Zetterberg or Datsyuk coming out the early to middle rounds from this draft... I think I will just be sad.Yeah, it's nothing against you or anything, In fact, I recognize the same thinking in myself, which is funny really, but also makes me a little sad. Right now I should be pumped about how awesome our team will be next year with Armia filling out our secondary scoring, and other exciting things to look forward too. I guess the ever optimist in me can still hope that Free Agency will save the day, but right now I am looking down the barrel of another season like last year, only twice as long. I wish I could enjoy the gallows humor, but man, I am struggling a little bit with it right now.
I wasn't expecting a great team next year, but a least a group of young guns in the middle that showed some Moxie. I guess I am most disappointed by the Luke Adam and Grigerenko... both have mad skills, but it doesn't look like either have heart, especially Adam. I hope I am worng about Grigerenko. Last year's effort did not bode well though... no viruses to give an excuse for his effort.

They took two centers in the first round last year. What exactly are you looking for them to do at this point?
:wallbash: is right.
Get the level where they pick a top line center. Don't have one yet unless Grig does a miracolous turn around on the effort side of things. Everything we were concerned about and why he dropped to us last year is showing up. Boy needs to get some gitty up in his hustle... Till then, I will continue to gripe that the Sabres have missed their target again.
In the same sense of any other 19 year old top prospect from the 1st round. No different than any other person who was drafted yesterday. They are all "concepts." This isn't 23 year luke adam or the myth of Kassian. This is an elite 19 year old prospect
Once again show me. Still a concept. Yes he has skills, but the compete is not there. I don't see what you are seeing.

Another year, another year without drafting a top end center. Not sure the Sabres could have gotten one give their position, but there goes another year without one. oh well.... Not saying what they drafted was bad, I like the top two defensemen, Still another year without a top centerman... sigh.... They just had to go on that late season run :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

Translation, Sabres to their fans: "Baby, don't walk out on me! I know I've made some mistakes in the past, but I'm gonna change! Just give me one more chance. It'll be different. I swear!"
Show me... Not bad on the two big D, but the Sabres needed skill with nasty up front in the center position and for all the draft talk, the Sabres left empty handed once again. Love the two D guys, but without the high end C in the middle gotta think this draft is a failure and if I am Miller and Vanek, I ask to be bought out. Can either hold out for part of the season? Playing on this team would be detrimental to their well being of signing a new contract?
-
I am okay, wanted Dauphin
-
D sucked because we had no centers who could get back and help out. Trade out there after this pick??? Not Darcy though.
-
Wow 2 D,,,, No one will score on the Sabres.... But no offence.... Jeez.
-
Do they still do 2nd round today as well?
-
Bit of a run on D lately... interesting.
-
Wennberg gone to Columbus
-
P.S. NBC sports just put on draft live after pick 10...
-
More centers gone.... oh well. so who do the Sabres take at 16... Lodge or Dauphin?
-
Ray just tweeted his new hot dog stand is open in Springville

Bettman is such a peener.... upon being booed... "I think you're going to want to listen"
The guy just doesn't help himself... a little self deprecating humor would do him some good. He sounds like the old librarian shhhhshing the crowd.

So does Cover take Fucale?
-
Wow, Ristolanin... Wow!
-
Clutterbuck to Isle being reported.
-
Looks like this might turn into another Bash Darcy thread:
-
Lindholm... nuts.
-
You can listen to the draft on NHL website. No video :(Kevin Sylvester and Andrew Peters are on WGR.....WHY? Kris Baker is there to inject some intelligence into the situation, but this is still pretty bad.
-
Poile and Izerman talking? Trade?
-
Gut said Barkov would go up. Wow.

Really, that is your defense of Grigs... Grigs hasn't and Spezza did right away from what I remember... So that is even more damning of Grigs.

21 points in his first NHL season playing 33 games.
