  1. WTF, who ever called Irbe the "goalie whisperer" nailed it.
  2. Lindback wants the win badly.
  3. FWIW, I think the Sabres will always take it to the Bruins going forward. It's engrained in the organization at this point.
  4. Weber is having another good game but he looks tired.
  5. Are my eyes deceiving me or do the Sabres have the Bruins a little scared to go into the corners? ...?
  6. For whatever it's worth, Lindback looks like a monster in front of that net. I like that. I hope he turns into a good one...next season.

I'm just going to put this in THIS thread...
  8. If Irbe could get Lindback to track the puck better when it's deep in the zone, he might be pretty okay. I will say that Irbe seems to be squeezing a lot of water from those rocks.
  9. I set you up, only to bowl you over.

    Grigorenko

^--- I wonder how many people will agree with the above. I honestly don't know what kind of game ROR would bring to the Sabres. The more cap space, the better, if they have a ROR-type player already.
  11. Take solace in the knowledge that those who seek comfort will give yourself and a preacher equal merit.
  12. You can't go there. LGR, perhaps, but you, nope. Sorry. You handed in your "average sports Joe" card seasons ago.
  13. I thought the Sabres looked smaller than the Rangers. In fact, I recall, recently, being a little surprised at how much smaller the Sabres still look playing against some teams. I'm sure there has to be a "how-you-play-the-game" factor to these impressions.

The idea that Grigorenko could be part of a trade seems pretty solid to me. He was very good in camp, but that and a dollar would net you two Little Debbie Honey Buns and that's about it. I guess the question is: what is his value? Would he, plus the second first, land the Sabres ROR? GMTM can't be the only GM who gets all whacky over prospects.
  15. This would be my vote.
  16. Nice weather + GM of an NHL team = road trip!
  17. I guess the only thing that's important is the final score, at least to me. I am still interested in the development of the youth, but, there isn't much left to go on. Maybe if Grigorenko plays I would pay more attention, because I'd like to assess where he's at. Or, if the game all of a sudden gets interesting somehow. But...
  18. Eight? Wow, that's quite the disparity with the other lists. Has he addressed the reason for this anywhere? He doesn't at that link.
  19. I practice guitar during games. Admittedly, while I do have them on, they're not demanding my complete attention like when the team was even semi-decent.

This is called consistency. It's old fashioned to mean what you say, and say what you mean. Nolan is old fashioned and it so grates against the "modern" view. Rob Ray refers to "these new generation players" often...this is what he's talking about. Coddled babies who, eventually, if they hold out long enough, get their way because the "parents" give up. You may not have liked Snape, but without him, Harry Potter wouldn't have won.
  21. So? Do you expect the Sabres to not do anything with their number ones?
  22. The Caps could have cried mercy before the start of the second.

    Grigorenko

I would love to see him get 10-12 straight games in the NHL. Preferably more than 4 minutes a game.
  24. Is that darkovich in the Timmy Ho's commercials?
