Interesting POVs on the radio, certainly making me think about all of this, of course, combined with the opinions here. I'm starting to think that if Kane is everything all of the pro-Kane folk say he is, then this was a pretty good deal. But, again, I'm not sold on him. The point I really wanted to make, though, is that I so hate Mike Schopp. He's such a d*ckhead. The guy's emotional maturity is stunted and is stuck at 17 years old.

Okay, you know what, as this settles in, I think it's probably best for me, at least, to just hang with it. Come September, then it would be fair to criticize what's going on, assuming criticism is warranted at that time. GMTM has a plan, obviously. I'm not sold on Kane, but okay, let's see what else Murray does, if this is what he's willing to do to make the team he wants.

Wait, what? If I can't be sold on them, how could I like the trade? I like the BIG thinking, and, yes, I do like getting "established young players" in return for something, but the value seems lop-sided to me. Clearly, this shows what GMTM means when he says they can turn around this team in a few years, rather than many years. But...Kane being the centerpiece leaves me wondering. I'm completely open to admitting I'm under-valuing Kane, but I have seen nothing yet that convinces me he's better than Stafford was in his contract year.

Good post. I think this also telegraphs that Nolan is going to be here for at least the beginning of next season. You don't grab a player like Kane, with his overhead, and not have someone here who can exercise his demons. Again, what makes this an overpayment to me is the first. A lot of people seem to think Lemieux was too much to give up...eh, I think the first was more valuable.

The wrister was good, but Z's concern for his sack made that goal.

Wowzers, first the puck landing on the line, and now the phantom goalie interference. Snake bit.

Wow, it's like Zadarov is a big ball of suck. I'm not seeing it, and I'm one of the few here who watch every game. I find it funny that stats are being tossed aside in this instance to justify an opinion. Since when was that valid?

FWIW, I'm with you on this. Even with any other team, they would have had to make a decision to keep him on the NHL roster or risk him going to the K (ultimately). I think most teams would have given him a shot because he was/is physically ready. The Sabres aren't a special case, here. So, given what's going on around him, he's doing pretty well. Imagining if he were on a team like Pittsburg, or Chicago, goodness, he might be on the second or third pairing, but he'd probably be getting as many, if not more, points.

Some of you people are f?&cking crazy. You'd give up Ennis for Kane? Why does Kane's record remind me of Stafford's? Who is one of the few forwards presently on the Sabres who hits and has offensive skill? I have yet to see an argument that convinces me Kane is worth all of the wacko talk going on here and on the radio. And, FFS, what's wrong with Myers? He's been good all around this year. The concern over his supposed lack of development is beyond mis-placed. The dude has been "developing" on a miserable team, and look at what he brings; when he's absent from the roster the game is certain to be horrible. He's going to be more important to the future here than a lot of folks believe. That is, unless Murray gets the desperate over-payment he mentions every time he's asked about a Myers trade.

This game has not been horrible to watch. And I think this season has been good for Enroth. He looks in control despite the chaos around him.

...I'm tired of the "is Enroth a starter" thing. He's starter caliber. -

Stewart, Stafford, Myers, Gionta, Mitchell, and I don't recall who else were all trying cutsie plays after Stafford's goal. That's what led to the shorty. WTF, it's the same stuff Ruff was dealing with. Why? -

A little confidence makes them want to play like they have skill. But...they don't have skill, and therefore need to play like Nolan wants them to play. -
