That's the thing, Murray wants this team to be a bear to play against. He's going all Western conference on us, which is a good...great...thing. Myers isn't tough to play against, but he is a good defender with offensive up side. Bogo is tough to play against, is probably a better defender based on his near perfect positioning (which Myers definitely does not have), and, did I see an attempt to slide the puck through the legs to get a shot on goal down the middle? I did, and I never saw Myers do that. Myers offense comes from speeding down the wing and cutting across to the net, usually, and also from point shots. If he is allowed to play that game, he does a good job with it. I don't think that kind of game is what Murray wants out of his defense routinely.

After being able to watch Bogosian for a few games now, I'm over whatever ill I had for this trade. Bogosian straight up for Myers seems totally worth it. I'm also alright with the goods given up for Kane even if he doesn't live up 100% to the hype.

You know what, I think it's reasonable to consider it might be that way, but I think a lot of Sabre's fans realize that the guy should probably give up. Unlike Kennedy, who, at the time, was on the upswing of whatever career he's scratched out in the pros, we've seen Kaleta get injured too many times to remember, suspended numerous times, targeted by players and refs. I think it will be a far more measured response than to what happened with Kennedy.

Wasn't there a start up thread like this a couple of weeks ago? Seems that way after a 6 day absinthe. Not that I have anything against the stats, I do think they have an obvious place as a significant tool for the craftsman, but this is an interesting question. With the heavy usage of stats now, would they get in the way of a natural talent whose ability goes against the statistical norm?
