The Panthers starting a series slow is not unheard of, too.

I'm rooting for the Panthers as well, but won't be disappointed if Mitts lifts the Cup.

Too soon to call either conference final IMHO. From the looks of game 1, Carolina is not likely to overcome the Rangers. Dallas had to go the distance with Vegas, and Vegas would have been thoroughly creamed by Colorado.

Rangers had Carolina panicking all third. Svechnikov will take a lot of heat but by then the chances of winning were slim.

The Rangers look beastly. I think they got an Original Six pass on a boarding call, though. If both teams play like this for the entire series someone is going to get hurt.

Don't think so. The Leafs' physical game was better than Boston's the past two games. Boston looks old. The Panthers have a solid physical game that can easily match Boston's right now. If anything we'll be treated to a goaltender duel, but, again, the Panther's skill surpasses Boston's by quite a lot. If I were a betting man I would lay money on this being a 4 and out series.

At this point, if the Laughs lose, it will be anticlimactic because this series is so God-awful. If they make it into the next round, Toronto fans will get all high on themselves only to witness their team get summarily crushed by the Panthers. That might be worth the cost of admission.

So, on the Panther's broadcast they are playing up the Stamkos UFA narrative. As a thought exercise, do we have the cap room for a Stamkos contract? For those prone to freaking out over brainstorming - it's just brainstorming. I recognize it would make Cozens an overpaid third line center, but on the flip side of that a few years in that role could be just what he needs.
