  1. Yep. Definitely gonna miss his pressers. He was one of a kind.
  2. I have disdain for only one ex-Sabre so it doesn’t bother me in the least to see the others do well. And it’s not about getting annoyed when he does well, it’s about the joy when he screws the pooch. That said, I fully understand he’s too talented, so these moments of joy when the villain messes up aren’t frequent enough.
  3. Absolutely. Starting the backup goalie is as much about a galvanizing rallying point for the team as anything else. I mean they’re benching the presumptive Vezina winner for crissakes.
  4. Makes the most sense. I think if Swayman wins and looks good doing it then we may have seen the last of Ullmark in the playoffs.
  5. The other important factor in his improvement, which was evident even before he joined the top line, was getting him as far away from VO as possible.
  6. Why are posts about the Amerks playoffs being intermingled with posts about the NHL playoffs?
  7. Ouch. It will be interesting to see who Boston starts. Do you bench the Vezina favorite or show a vote of confidence that he can rebound with a Vezina like performance? Or do you go with Swayman but risk a blow to Ullmark’s confidence in the process? Given Ullmark’s crappy playoffs last year and his continued struggles this year, I go with Swayman and hope the team uses that as a rallying cry. And if Swayman plays lights out, that means your Vezina favorite may not see the ice again in these playoffs.
  8. It’s not about finding out in the forum, it’s about finding out before Goodell has made the announcement. Some who are privy to league communications just can’t help themselves.
  9. As one of his harshest critics, I can very much appreciate the comment on Mitts and as I’ve said, he’s managed to turn his game around. I’m more than glad to enjoy that dish of crow. Unfortunately, unlike Mitts, Joki hasn’t managed to show that same level of improvement in his game. That’s not trashing Joki in the least; I’m just recognizing that he’s suited for a third pairing level.
  10. Borgen is kind of a moot point anyway. As to Joki, yeah, you’ve made your position known several times in the past. So I have to ask, do you actually watch him play in our D end? 😄
  11. Borgen would be second pairing over Joki, that’s for sure. He’s just better at playing the defensive position. That said, Borgen would be bumped down to third pair in favor of the legit second pair D man we will he acquiring this summer.
  12. Start with John Mackey and work your way down.
  13. Joe DiBiase is a little b word who thinks fantasy football is real and this take about 1st round TEs is as irrelevant as it gets. Hey Joey, how about TEs selected in other rounds over the last 17 years? News flash Joey: as a prospect, Kincaid is head and shoulders above any of the WRs you had a school girl crush on last night.
  14. Berglund never bought into getting traded to Buffalo. He was so saddened by it, he went into a deep depression as a result. It’s too bad Botts and Co. couldn’t vet him properly before acquiring him. He never would have had an opportunity to quit on a team that wanted him.
  15. The moment things don’t go well for Rodgers and the Jets, A Rod is gonna experience the true difference between the Green Bay and New York local media.
  16. Adams and Co. will be held responsible, regardless. Doesn’t matter what the pearl clutching media and fan base ask or don’t ask.
  17. Islanders are the poster child for cheap, undisciplined play.
  18. This is far better than anyone questioning the severity of his injury and whether he is malingering or not.
  19. I suspect the Sabres told him he is not NHL ready, that he needs AHL seasoning, and it didn’t sit well with his camp.
  20. Of course. As has anyone who’s been here long enough. He can be contentious here, but his role as a reporter at a presser vs. his role as a hockey forum member with opinions are quite different. I don’t recall him editorializing his questions at pressers in the past.
  21. Bruins fans are the worst. The racial abuse they heaped upon Joel Ward in the 2012 playoffs after he scored the game seven OT goal to win the series and eliminate Boston was shameful; just a disgusting display.
  22. Sabres and other NHL teams have had several unsigned players at their development camps over the years. Two of the more notable ones just last year with Levi and Portillo. There are insurance policies that indemnify them against injury and I’d bet every unsigned prospect has one.
