  1. Good point and it also illustrates how tough it is to call. Who would have guessed Mike Smith, Mike Tomlin or countless others would have fared as well as they have.
  2. Looks like you are the winner. When schedule is out pm me as soon as possible so I can secure your tickets.
  3. Doug Marrone comes highly recommended by a guy that Bills' fans have treated as a God (Bill Parcells). That's good enough for me.
  4. I am out as well but would like the opportunity to compete next year if a spot is open.
  5. Looks like I may have to come back and read this afterall...
  6. I know I'm in the minority but I fully expect the season to start on time. Work stoppages generally occur when one side is run by a clearly inferior opponent. Whatever people think of both Bettman and Fehr, I consider them equally proficient at what they do and they are both keenly aware what their public rep is. They will settle this before end of September.
  7. Sabres would jump at one year deal in a heart beat. Ennis wants more.
  8. I think those comments were overblown. What is he going to say, "we think Ennis is too small and we really hope Anaheim changes their mind and takes him off our hands?"
  9. If I could hazard a guess I would say the Sabres quandry is that they don't see Ennis as a top 6 talent and you can't have your whole roster tied up to long tern deals. If they are right about Hodson and the two kids, there really is no room for Ennis beyond next year.
  10. Nothing personal, I remember CV and I knew you were pro rumor. I really not passionate either way on the subject.
  11. Rumor has it, after marrying Pebbles he admitted to having a "love" child by the name of Claude Verette who sometimes goes by the name of hockey insider. During a tearful reunion Bam Bam admitted to being Ecklund. I should add that I got this from a friend of a friend who knew Garth so I would give it an E3.
  12. Don't know if its still there or if the quality remains, but Sorrentino's on Grey Street had awesome subs in the early 90's. I want to add Chef's to the overrated list as well.
  13. I was just going to say the same thing, Brooks was Ecklund before there was an Ecklund. He probably has this listed as an E3.
  14. You do realize that Stafford had only 11 less hits and 7 less points then Ryan and Drew didn't get to play with Getzlaff and Perry.
  15. Ryan has played left wing almost exclusively with Anaheim.
  16. So you only count Cups after lock out? Drury took control of the room, he booted the cancer, put Roy and other's in their place and whether he would have finished the job is still open to debate. For what its worth, I would have signed Semin, just making a point that if guys like Doan can have a dramatic positive effect, others can do the opposite.
  17. It really was not much of a secret that Drury and Briere pretty much forced Satan out of Buffalo cause of the division he was causing. How is it that some believe that Doan can have such a positive impact in the room but no one can have a similar negative impact?
  18. Then he meant bottom line role players which is even more embarassing. You have five choices; 1) He thought they were players on Parise 2) He liked some mid level guys that you weren't keen on 3) He was after some bottom role players 4) He targeted John Scott 5) He lied
  19. Darcy went on and on about how they didn't want to be one of the losers in free agency this year. That is not the plan of an organization that was willing to take a step back. He obviously failed again unless you believe John Scott was his only target. Considering that they never were a serious player for Parise and Suter and have said they didn't contact Semin, there is only one logical conclusion; they swung and missed on some mid level guys and that has to embarassing to DR and disconcerting to Pegula, Black et al.
  20. Actually, according to his boss, Tom Golisano, Darcy's only job requirement while TG owned the club was to not lose money, which he did. It's only been about 18 months since TP took over so I would bet he doesn't have to answer to his boss till the next off season. For the record, I would have fired Darcy when I bought the club, but I can't deny he has done his job as required by his superiors.
  21. When you get off of that ledge, first, look at the 3 teams besides LA that made it to the final four. See what they were playing with and what kind of production they got out of the center position. Second, look at the centers that have changed teams so far this off season. It is a position in crisis based on how the game is being played. There are just not a lot of them to go around. There are still moves to be made but you may be disappointed with what they bring to camp at the center position.
